Welcome, lurker.

I think to be honest, we are a team in transition - we all knew that at the start of the season. It is what it is. The stats bear out that Diaz is even less clinical than Darwin, which is going some. Not sure we can afford 2 players in the same lineup who need a lot of chances.

Szobo is an excellent player for his country and looked very promising when he arrived. Not sure what's happened - maybe it's just "settling in" issues.

Lurking Liverpool fan here….but I’ll have a go, of the team that started today :

1) Salah - hit and miss, a bit too selfish, lost a couple of yards of pace. Presence overshadows the team.

2) Nunez - hard not to love his energy and attitude but far too unreliable to be the starting striker

3) Szob - after a promising start has slipped back to average, willing to give benefit of the doubt though.
I agree, we should replace them with Mbappe, Haaland and Bellingham.

Mentally i think they're done after not beating that shower of scensorede last week.
To be fair, top 4 was the goal this year so they 'should' achieve that. They've got away with a lot this season and could only concede first so many times before it bit them on the acensorede.
Hopefully Arsenal will win it now instead of the cheats but we'll see if they balls it up too.

Pretty much it for me, too, that. Well thought top 4 would be a good result. A trophy being a bonus. We should get both. Only the media was stirring up the quadruple nonsense. I think Klopp and his team already had an idea we might not make it over the finish line with the team as is.

Better things like ahead, I'm sure. Assuming we don't balls up the recruitment.

I think our squad is pretty decent. Assuming only Matip and Thiago leave, I'd be quite happy with 3 players coming in/through. One in attack, one DM and one CB. We'd have at least 2 decent options across the park then.

But, as correctly pointed out, a new manager will have their own ideas on formations and players.

The squad is ok, as I've said before but we've been punching above our weight and basically over achieving.
I'll still obviously take that but I'm not just going to turn round and say they are all great just because I'm a supporter of the club.

I bet city cant believe it.

For all city's titles,
the first was won with a last gasp injury time winner
2 have been won by a point (from us)
last year arsenal bottled it
This year arsenal and us are bottling it

. Bloody annoying

On the one hand, the title race is still open.

On the other, City have form for just closing out the season at the top and winning 1 after the next. So its theirs to lose, obviously. And they rarely do.

Well it's definitely hurting me having run the course for nearly the whole season. Might not have been expected at the very start but we've played well as a team for virtually the whole season, dominating play and still the 3rd highest scorers in the league despite wasting so many chances. Weren't we also the first team in Europe to score 100 goals?

I think fatigue of the season has finally caught up with us, going hard in four comps plus the injuries. It's been an excellent season in trutj but just so frustrating having come so close.
So close to what?
