I wonder if Salah will still be here in August?
My money would be on no.Sell him whilst he will still make a profit
Would make sense for club and player I think.
Not so much writing him off.
He hasn’t been the same person this season he’s lost a bit of pace, sloppy touches and poor finishing.
And the smile has gone also.
He is already a legend in my eyes, but better to part ways while he still has value to us and where a fresh start may rejuvenate him.

Not sure what to make of slot tbh.
His stats don't look all that great
He's got a better PPM (2.13) over the past 3 years than Klopp has with us (2.07) or had with Dortmund (1.91)His stats don't look all that great
I'd say comparing his Feynoord stats with Klopp's at Dortmund is pretty fair. His win % + goals scored and conceded per game are all superior, so again not sure what's wrong with his stats as both were in a league that had a club who historically won everything and had far more resources (Bayern/Ajax)

His stats look great - Feyenoord out perform Liverpool on various ones I saw - and any other team in Europe. But ultimately it's at a level of footy which is a bit below the PL. As lng as he can do similar with better players, he should be a good fit. Looking forward to it, not seeing any negatives.
This was my point.Edited by SWoll on Saturday 27th April 08:04
This is more akin to a Brendan Rogers appointment than a Jurgen Klopp type of appointment.
That doesn't mean Slot won't be successful though and I remain hopeful, if not expectant.

He'll be 32 this summer and 12 months left on his contract. So either we keep him and he goes on a free next year; he gets an extension this summer; he leaves. The third option is dependent on him wanting to leave irrespective of whether an acceptable offer comes in but I think this is the most likely outcome. In fact, I don't see either of the first two options being viable for us and neither will the Saudis so I'm expecting another high salary, low fee deal being offered and we'll probably take it
I am surprised with the Dutch league being raided by the North West yet again but is this now what we'll be getting in the EPL with FFP.
Dutch managers have also not shone brilliantly in the EPL over the years culturally.
Good luck though for the next few years, the dutch derby could be interesting.

I personally don't think you can compare the Eredivisie with when Klopp was at Dortmund.

I don't have a good feel about this and can quite easily see Alonso here next summerThis is more akin to a Brendan Rogers appointment than a Jurgen Klopp type of appointment.

That is basically apples and oranges.
Quite, you can’t compare win stats in different leagues.Anyway we should all expect a fall off from Klopps best years, and some rebuilding.
The worry for me is that players would sign for us because they wanted to play for Klopp, and Arnie won’t have the same pull

I don't think that's fair TBH. The standard in Holland isn't far behind the Bundesliga, and the league is historically dominated by a big club with considerable resources. He's managed to win the title and the cup, been to a European final and has experience in the CL + EL. All whilst having a positive net earning on trasfers over 3 years of 35m.This is more akin to a Brendan Rogers appointment than a Jurgen Klopp type of appointment.
Rogers had done none of those things when joining us and his record was pretty average with Swansea in all fairness (1.5 PPM) barely getting them promoted in his first season and finishing 11th in the PL in his second before we signed him.

I'm sure that was part of the reason for some players, but it's hardly the only thing we have going for us?Edited by SWoll on Saturday 27th April 11:18

More akin to Rogers than Klopp, rather than being exactly like Rogers.Edited by SWoll on Saturday 27th April 11:18
It's a reasonable appointment but one I can't get too excited about just now.
