Poor decision to take Shelvey off with have fell apart since.
Unavoidable. He’s coming back from injury and playing ninety minutes risks an(other) injury. Does seem to have disrupted things though, Agew not a like for like swap but not sure anyone on the bench was a direct swap. You could tell on JonJo's expression and reaction when he came off that he knew he was the key man holding it all together and how right he was. Maybe Mangala would have been a better swap? We need to do the simple things well, MGW has a habit to turn his back on trouble when receiving the ball rather than pushing on and taking his man on which often allows our opposition those extra few seconds to regroup. Big 6 pointer next week, lose that and we are really in trouble.

Given the thrashing Brighton gave West Ham, does that show how bad we actually are?
The how to account for a draw with Man City? Think we are struggling when we are away, not sure it’s a confidence thing or the constant player changes.
We have been much better at home so far. We just have to get the points today.
Wood is not the right guy up front, he can neither hold it up and bring others in. Or get on the end of fast breaks.
Freuler was terrible. Even Dennis looked and improvement when he came on.
We have a tough run in from here. Going to be incredibly close. I really hope we don’t need a result away at Palace on the last day of the season.
Agreed Woods is not the man for us, will go down as one of our biggest transfer mistakes if we go down. Surridge offers more and saw a glimpse of Awonyi sat on the bench yesterday and thought his return could be vital to us staying up. Nice to see Yates back with an important clearance and an assist for the second goal in 15 minutes? more than plenty of the others contributed in 90. We can't rely on just BJ for goals. Tough run in from now Spurs and Newcastle had a dip in form lately so we might sneak something. Minimum of 6 points from the Wolves,Leeds and Villa games then it gets really tough with Man U and Liverpool on the bounce. I think it will go to the wire and our goal difference will cost up unless we starting scoring away from the City Ground.
Off to the Tottenham Stadium tomorrow. Can't be too optimistic given our awful away form, but slight glimmer is that Spurs aren't exactly in top form at present.
I'm hoping Cooper changes the midfield a little. As much as Jack was great for us last season, that was as an emergency left wing back, and not as a CDM. I just don't think the Colback/Shelvey/Freuler midfield has been great. 2 points from 6? I can't see Cooper making more than 1 change for the sake of continuity, but I'd would swap Jack for Mangala or Danilo. Obviously I don't see what goes on during training but that's what I would like to see! I doubt Yates is ready for the full 90 mins, otherwise he'd be in the 11.
I still don't understand the perseverance with Wood, and I'd much prefer to see Surridge start up top. However it wouldn't surprise me if we don't play either and have Bren and MGW up front, with another midfielder (Scarpa or Danilo) like we did v City.
