That’s what a 2-2 draw with United gets you these days.

There was talk of Martin O'Neill but that seems to have quietened a touch.

Quique Sanchez Flores could be on the cards.

The lowest win rate of any Southampton manager (ever) would have played more of a part.

That has to be the end of Hughes in the Premiership now surely. He needs another career.

Talks about jobs for the boys ...

Hughes has managed SIX Premiership clubs - so has he been sacked SIX times? Any other profession and you'd think. maybe I'll try something else ...

Chance for someone else who is less of a 'name', maybe?

I was surprised (but pleased) at seeing this today. I was expecting a kicking from United, so was pleased with a draw (and annoyed we were 2 up!).

Who is going to want to come to us? We're like the fat kid picked last on sports day for the 100m.

Seems the job could be going to ex-Red Bull Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Know very little about him but, for what I've been reading, he favours high press / high fitness / high tempo. If that's the case, some of the players are in for a bit of a shock laugh.

To be honest, my money is on a relative unknown with no real success, plucked from some mid-table European club...

ETA: just seen what he achieved at Leipzig - 2nd in the Bundesliga in their first season. Could be an interesting option...

And Hughes packets three years' pay for failure (or significant compensation). Great work if you can get it.

Austrian bloke looks promising.

Becoming the first premier league manager to be sacked twice in the same year.

So, Hasenhuttl it is then...

If he gets us playing like RBLeipzig I'll be happy.

Confirmed, starts on Thursday...

Thoughts? He seems to have a good record, and hopefully in the short term he can turn things around and get us playing football (and get results). My only concern is he left Leipzig under a bit of a cloud.

Seems to be a similar situation to Koeman leaving us, issues around contract extensions, rather than being sacked for being rubbish.

Hopefully we have players suitable to work with his playing style.

I hope he's as good as I've read. He's said he wants to manage in the Premiership so his motivation will be high. Surely must be an improvement on Hughes.

With a bit more luck you could well have won this game.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

I hear they're having double training sessions. Should weed out the ones who aren't up to it.
