Agreed re Redmond. There seems to be an attitude adjustment for the positive.
Ramsey, however, should be shipped back to Chelsea asap.
See that's the weird thing; I thought Ramsay did OK. Given he had to cover two positions at points in the game, he cleared when he needed to, and was generally able to look after their LW. Granted he didn't offer much going forwards, but then we seemed to be playing through the centre anyway.Ramsey, however, should be shipped back to Chelsea asap.
I know Shane Long keeps getting into the right positions and has a great work rate, but he shouldn't get a game simply because he seems to be the unluckiest player on the field most of the time. There always seems to be someone in the way. on the line etc when he attempts to score, although that six-yard 'hit it anywhere but there' chance he had in the first half should have been buried, and no mistake. Is he just unlucky, or no good?
Ramsay didn't do much to impress, but then I didn't think he was dire. He did look out of his depth at times, but he's very young and clearly inexperienced. One for the future - he may make it, it may be a step too far. Time will tell.
Elyounoussi on the other hand - he's had more than enough chances to show that he can contribute but, same as most of his previous outings for Saints, he was utter garbage last night. I honestly thought we'd be better off with 10 men on the pitch.
The biggest (only) positive was seeing the number of academy lads playing a part - good to see the new boss running the rule over the kids.
Anyway (and it's not sour grapes), but with more pressing matters this season (ie not getting relegated), I'm not especially disappointed to be out of the Cup at this stage.

One of the TV commentators delivered an outrageous stat re Shane Long. His last four goals have been under four different managers!!
