It is being reported that 2 of our 16 year olds are going to Newcastle. Supposedly for £6500 a week. Not bad at 16 !!!

Joe Aribo from Rangers for 10M will turn out to be a very good buy I think.

I sense we will still be a little short on goals.
We could do with Armstrong really stepping forward or Adams delivering consistently

At least we won’t waste a place in the team with Long.

Lavia finally announced, I think he has the attributes to be phenomenal.

I've read mixed reviews about him....I must admit I'd not heard of him until this week. Looking at his youtube clips, his touch and passing look really good and he looks quite powerful, a bit Zaha-esque perhaps? Bit concerned about his lack of goals/assists but I reckon he could win us a fair few freekicks around the box.....!!

I think (hope) we'll get 1 striker in. I just hope whoever it is can hit the ground running.

He's not really a striker, although he played there when Roofe and Morelos were injured.

In their Europa League run he was their best player along with Bassey (who we should also look at. He's a beast in defence)

It's early days I know but I'm surprised you're managing to hold onto all of your main players so far, especially JWP. Felt sure somebody would be in for him the minute the window opened.

We discussed JWP before the end of the season and are as amazed as you are. Happy though that we still have him - so far.

JWP won't leave while we're in the PL.

JWP is a big fish in a small pond. He gets in the England squad usually until it comes to the finals when he has in the past missed out.
Would love him to stay at the saints and given he has years on his contract, I think it would be expensive to prise him away

Exactly as Le Tiss was for us back in the day. Big fish, small pond and fringe player at best for the national side as a result, sadly. Also a king of the dead ball.

I remember when Le Tiss got a hat trick for the England B team just prior to a championships and I thought he was guaranteed to go with that but it did not

Wasn't that when Hoddle [allegedly] said to him 'Go play yourself into my squad'.

MLT did exactly what was asked of him (scored three, made a fourth), and subsequently found out on the news they were taking an unfit Anderton instead.

That my recollection of it as well. I think the 2nd goal he beat 3 players and buried it. Shame as Le Tiss was really at his peak

I normally err on the side of negativity when it comes to Saints, but I've always felt he's here to stay. At least in the immediate future. If he adds more creativity to his game I could see him going but I don't see that he offers enough to any of the big clubs, especially for the money we would want. For what he brings to us though, he is irreplaceable.

Remember it like it was yesterday. Absolute travesty!

Joe is a saint as well
Surely just a striker to come … (dreaming of that)

Who do we reckon? Few names been banded about. I'd like Kalajdzic out of the ones mentioned but I'm not sure how realistic that is!
