Starting next season in the Championship would be a total disaster tbh. Bielsa; Gone. Philips: Gone. White: Gone. Harrison: Gone. Meslier: Gone. The culture Bielsa has installed at the club will ebb away and whoever we get to replace him just won't be on his level. They'll also be starting with an inferior group of players.
It really isn't a good scenario.

To say the results were good for us last night is an understatement....
They were but we need to sort ourselves out and start winning games again if we're going to have any chance of automatic promotion! To do that I still think we need to strengthen the squad and it sounds like the deal to get Ian Poveda from Man City is progressing; however, the real need is for a decent quality striker to supplement Bamford and it doesn't feel like we're especially close to getting one....JNW1 said:

For the rumoured £20m package surely there are other decent options available?

In terms of getting a striker it feels to me like we're putting too many eggs in the Che Adams basket; Southampton obviously don't want him to go - or at least their manager doesn't - and if we're not careful it will be another Dan James scenario where we miss out on who we want and have no back-up plan. I know there's still a week of the transfer window left but, while I agree Adams could do a job for us, I think we need to move on rather than risk ending-up with nobody.

Perhaps we think he is a long term prospect. To be fair to him he has not been given much of a chance with Dings on fire. When Adams played at the start of the season the team was total dogsh!t and championship bound. Our turnaround has been extraordinary and it is not down to him not playing.
Good luck with a striker hunt but Adams is not the one

Agree you boys have staged a dramatic recovery, bet that horrible night at home to Leicester seems a long time ago now? Keep going the way you are and you might even bag a place in Europe for next season!

Jean-Kevin Augustin apparently coming.
Don't know much of him but waccoe seems excited.
We'll see what transpires but if the reports are true he's leaning towards us despite offers from Crystal Palace and a couple of French Ligue 1 teams. However, it sounds like his current team (Leipzig) value him at around £35m which sounds way too much for us unless a chunk of it is a loan and we have no obligation to buy if we're not promoted; to be honest it's one of those where I'll believe it if and when it happens.... Don't know much of him but waccoe seems excited.

How weird is this!? I'm managing Leeds on football manager, 5 seasons in on my game now and signed him in my most recent summer transfer window as a back up! (My two strikers are so good he can't break in to the first team permanently but he was cheap and good enough!)
He sounds like he could be a really good signing.

I'm lead to believe he'll be on the bench against Millwall.

He had offers from Ligue 1 in France, Premiership interest from Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forrest were apparently interested too so we did have competition for him.

Well we've got the Augustin deal over the line and apparently it's a loan with an option to buy; however, in the end we didn't seem to have too much in the way of serious competition for him and you can't help but wonder why that is?
I've read very much the opposite. He had offers from Ligue 1 in France, Premiership interest from Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forrest were apparently interested too so we did have competition for him.
Regardless, he's with us until at least the end of the season and hopefully things will go well for him. He should give Bamford some much needed support (and competition), I just hope that unlike Eddie he gets a decent chance to prove himself and doesn't end-up sat on the bench while chances continue to go begging on the pitch. Don't think he'll feature tonight against Millwall but that's a game we could do with winning to help steady the ship after the recent run of poor results...
ETA: Just seen a comment to the effect Man Utd made a late attempt to lure Augustin but things were too advanced with us for them to stop it; also sounds like Palace, Brighton and Newcastle had expressed an interest but allegedly Bielsa and Orta were key to making the deal happen and bringing him to Leeds. So sounds like a bit of a coup for us, let's hope things work out on the pitch - with his apparent liking for spectacular strikes perhaps he'll be the new Yeboah!
