Very very sad about Normal, he did a little pre match talk for us in The Bremner suite with Tony Dorigo every home game and always had time to come over and speak to us. What a lovely man and what a player...

Another sad loss of one of footballs legendary characters in a modern world of characterless money mercenaries.I consider myself fortunate that I saw football at a time when players of skill and proper hard men pitted their talents against one another. From an era when men were men and strikers were worried !! Thanks for the memories Norm.

Especially sad that he won't be around to see us go back up frown

He was great on the Radio Leeds commentary team too.

As things are quiet... Did anyone else see the fan-art design for the LUFC badge?

Twitter thread here: https://twitter.com/george_evvy/status/12551877923...

With variations for blue and yellow shirts. I really like the white and gold though, with the Adidas stripes. Might look even better on the slightly looser fit tees for the less athletic among us. Always did like the 1990s white rose roundel badge. As I say, purely fan art, and the real designs are probably locked and loaded, ready to go.

Like the shirts, less so the badge. Although I really haven't got over the change from this one

This is nice though

Indeed, another very sad loss; best known for his time with us but a good servant to the Terriers and Bantams as well - RIP Trevor.

Just thought I’d pop my head in and say hello.
Not been on the forum very long, mostly just have a look around on a weekend, but as a Yorkshireman born in Leeds and living in North Yorkshire ( Yes, I’m reyt posh tha knows ) I’ve followed Leeds since I was a boy and I’m past the half century now.
To my shame, only just thought to look around this part of the forum.....but I’ll stick my nose in from now on......

Thanks Brentford, by most guesses we now need 3 wins from 9.

Honourable mention to the Blues.

A win tomorrow will make that Fulham game very interesting. I still rate Brentford as the biggest challenge besides West Brom.
Fulham have got everyone around them still to play but Brentford have “easier” fixtures, if there is such a thing.
No excuses now, everyone has had the same break and everyone has the same mad fixture schedule, I’ll add to the curse and say that whilst I’m not sure if we will win it, I’m confident that if we can win tomorrow and get at least a draw at Fulham we may well have scraped it.......

After last season I’m keeping my mouth shut and taking it one game at a time. Focusing on our fixtures, sod the rest of them.

Once again the results have pretty much gone in our favour.

BUT. We need to make the most of it. From what I hear, and have seen on Twitter. Our players look in great shape.

Also the Cardiff Players apparently struggled for fitness in their friendly.

Still. I'm nervous as hell. Won't be able to relax tomorrow until after the game. If we win I shall dare to dream.

I'm also a fifty something Leeds fan based in North Yorkshire so you're not alone! smile

I tend to agree with what you're saying above as well; if we can win today - by no means certain given our record against Cardiff - and then beat Fulham we'll be in a very strong position. And perversely, I just wonder whether playing behind closed doors at Elland Road might not be the disadvantage some believe; in the past the weight of expectation seems to have adversely affected the team so without sensing the anxiety from 35k people maybe they'll be less inhibited and actually perform better? Regardless of how we do it, though, I just hope we get over the line this time!

Confident we'll get a win today, I think Brentford look great on the counter and I could even see them sneaking second from West Brom!

Fulham have a hard set of fixtures so I think they'll struggle and I think a team like Blackburn, Preston or Millwall will sneak the playoffs... I'd like Forrest to go up personally.

Still 45 minutes to go as I type but it's feeling horribly like one of those days; totally dominant but somehow behind with even our own striker helping to save Cardiff's bacon!
