Diabolical, like watching Barcelona one day and well... Leeds the next. Luckily results went our way yesterday.

I'm not the biggest football fan but the OH and her family all support Leeds, so I've been a Leeds follower by default for the last ten years. All I can say is that the day we beat Cardiff I'll spend all my savings on lottery tickets!

Overall we were the better team though - they just got lucky with two good strikes, both of which came from our mistakes.

The one worry for me was how poor we were in the final third; for all our dominance of possession we didn't create many clear chances and time and again we got into good positions only to waste it as a result of either a wayward pass/cross or a heavy touch. That said, hopefully Hernandez will be back to add some creativity against Fulham and if we keep playing like we did today we should still win more than we'll lose; however, this afternoon has served to confirm it won't be easy to get over the line!

Disappointing but not entirely unexpected. Cardiff are such a bogey team and the first game back, away to Cardiff who are chasing a PO spot was always going to be a big task. I agree the overall performance was really let down in the last third so let's hope that can be addressed and we pick ourselves up and give a good performance at home taking 3 points from Fulham.

Of the chasing pack I actually think Brentford are the team most likely to come through and snatch a place in the top two; if they don't I think they'll be very strong contenders in the play-offs and would probably be my favourites to claim the third promotion place. I reckon if we'd had Ollie Watkins as our main striker we'd have been as good as promoted already!

Ollie has been very good this year, i was worried who would replace Maupay however the BMW has proved to be excellent. If we dont get promoted i worry we will lose Benrama and Watkins. I also think having Pontus has been massive, he is a great Captain.

Yes, many Leeds fans were disappointed when Pontus was sold and I think he and White would have made for a very effective central defensive combination this season; however, it seems he got on the wrong side of Bielsa and that was that....

I've had my doubts about Bamford for a while and he certainly isn't a natural goalscorer. However, it shouldn't be just down to him to put the ball in the net - I think people like Harrison and Costa should also be providing more in that regard - and he does put in a shift and contribute in open play more generally. I remember when we played Eddie up front for the first half at WBA and then brought Bamford on to replace him at half-time; we were a completely different team in the second half and much more effective with Bamford on the pitch.

I'd love to see Roberts play up top with Bamford in behind. He's great at linking play and pressing.

Bamford - 110 shots, 13 goals, 2 assists.
Mitrovic - 96 shots, 23 goals, 1 assist.
Watkins - 70 shots, 22 goals, 3 assists.
Grabban - 64 shots, 17 goals, 2 assists.
Wells - 56 shouts, 15 goals, 3 assists.
Johnson - 27 shots, 11 goals, 5 assists.
Taylor - 34 shots, 11 goals, 1 assist.

Just some other top goalscorers for comparison. Bamford is absolutely dire, sign any other striker with 10+ goals and I reckon you'd have been promoted after 40 games.

Yes, those stats prove what many of us have thought for a while in terms of Bamford's goalscoring ability (i.e. he just needs too many chances to convert); however, he does contribute in other ways and for me it was always a shame Bielsa didn't give it a few games with him in a wider role and Nketiah as the main striker up front. His argument against that was it meant sacrificing a midfield player but for me both Harrison and especially Costa have been a bit hit and miss this season so personally I'd have dropped the latter to the bench for a few games to see how Bamford and Eddie worked together; if hadn't come off then not too much lost but if it had gelled I reckon we'd be in a much better position now....

Even bigger game tonight after last night, West Brom were so poor.

Would put us 8 and 3 clear of 2nd and 3rd.

Need Pablo to give us 60 odd mins and someone else other than Lord Bamford to squirm a goal or two in.

Big game today, need a win but definitely can't lose.

Hopefully get some better refereeing decisions that we did the last time we played them. That was one of the softest penalty decisions I can remember.

Riding our luck with other results but Brentford are a real threat now. I feel we need the 3 points more today just to steady the ship. However, destiny firmly in our hands - although I think I said the same just before the covid lockdown so have definitely tempted fate now.

Come on Leeds..!!
