Good win.
Indeed it was. We looked completely in control against another top team. But, as good as a clean sheet is. We really need to need start scoring more. The last two games should have been comfortable wins.
Wheeeeeeeeeee! Another one I predicted 100% wrongly!
Yes, we should have scored more, but that just makes me think we CAN score more. Compare with all those seasons of "I just can't see where a goal can come from". Frustrating certainly, but last season we lost to Arsenil! 4 points from 2 games - given the opposition I'll take that, especially given the two 4-1 whippings we had previously. Raphinha looks very promising, I can't imagine getting up to speed with the Leeds way of playing is easy. Can't wait for MOTD!
Yet again, the third party commenters saying what an entertaining game it was, even when it was 0-0. 87 shots in 4 games according to Twitter. That's how you win new fans. Now, if we can find that extra 0.1%...

Thought we were well beaten tonight; one or two of our players weren't at their best but fair play to Chelsea, they looked a good side and could probably have won by more than two goals. Being realistic, though, our battle isn't with the likes of them this season - they're definitely top four material and, for the time being at least, we're not at that level.
We were poor by our own standards I thought. Many didn't look quite at it tonight. We gave the ball away far too many times, often not under much pressure.
I've been critical of Cooper this season, but I thought he had a decent game tonight.
We need to get better at defending set pieces very quickly and get Rodrigo into tbe starting 11 somehow.

Saw some stat whilst half asleep this morning (game kicked off at midnight here) that they are the first side to outrun us since forever which goes a way to explaining the result.
Rumours the 49ers are pumping more money in soon and we will be active in Jan.
A proper left back is an absolute must for me, Alioski is in over his head, love him as a character but he is not a Premier League full back.
Hope the West Ham game sees Dallas moving back there and Rodders into the first 11.

Worse performance of the season?
Start with a penalty and then lose 2-1 to two set pieces we shouldn't have given away. Some great saves from Meslier only kept it to 2.
Yep. We were awful tonight. Made a poor West Ham team look half decent.Start with a penalty and then lose 2-1 to two set pieces we shouldn't have given away. Some great saves from Meslier only kept it to 2.
I'm still of the view a mid-table finish would represent a really good result for us this season and in truth I'd probably settle for anything 17th or higher....
West Ham are a decent team tbf, a lot better this season.
I genuinely can't believe Bielsa was talked about as manager of the year and Leeds being top 4, you'll be miles off, but you'll still be safe. Top 10 would be a fantastic season IMO. Reckon you'll strengthen the defence in January?

You're right, talk of Bielsa as manager of the year is all a bit silly - he's done a great job at Leeds but getting us out of the Championship doesn't really compare with those having success at the very top level. And talk of a top 4 finish this season has always been pie in the sky as far as I'm concerned; top 10 would represent a very good season and for me the main priority is ensuring we don't end-up back in the Championship.I genuinely can't believe Bielsa was talked about as manager of the year and Leeds being top 4, you'll be miles off, but you'll still be safe. In terms of the defence, I thought we made decent signings in Koch and Llorente but now have a major problem with both injured; Koch looks like he'll be out until March and Llorente is unlikely to be fit for two or three weeks (which means he'll more than likely miss most or all of the games over the festive period). So for the next few games at least we're stuck with a central defensive partnership of Cooper - who I don't think is good enough for the PL - plus one other who won't be a recognised central defender; sounds to me like a recipe for continuing to ship goals, especially from set pieces. Whether we try to strengthen in January I don't know - it's often not easy to get decent players in that transfer window so if Llorente is finally fit and Koch is recovering well maybe we stick?

Great result in the end. But I wish we could defend.
Cooper is still a liability. He constantly dives in to challenges where he has no hope of getting the ball. Schoolboy defending.
Yes, thought the performance definitely deserved the win but in fairness Newcastle should have had a penalty at 2-2 thanks to Cooper diving in and not getting the ball (and had that been given and scored the outcome could have been different). We could do with Koch and Llorente back but sadly aren't to have either for weeks and in the meantime we need to find a way to sort ourselves out defensively - at the moment it feels like we're likely to concede every time the opposition has a set piece.Cooper is still a liability. We play some stunning football, probably the best in the league I guess the leaky defence is a by-product of that style of attacking football. I'm not too worried about Koch being injured, Ayling is doing just as good. Nice to see Harrison make amends for a poor run of form recently too.

Ayling isn't the problem. Not many managers would have brought on a striker and an attacking midfielder having just gone 3-2 up with 10 minutes to go. But it worked out well this time.
Big game at the weekend. Bring on scum.
