Interesting wording in the official announcement ...

The "process of appointing" suggests someone is line up, otherwise it would have read the search for a new manager is underway
I feel like the club would've made plans around the first time he had a wobble, he had been placed on very thin ice back in October / November but they clearly wanted to give him the window and see what happened. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they've had somebody lined up since well before this.

Hoping to get someone in by Sunday. Few big names being rolled around as well as some not-so-big but highly rated ones...

Tomorrow is a free shot for Skoobs etc, Sunday new manager syndrome so get a win at ER for the new manager and then I think its Everton, Southampton and the next round in the cup so a few games that we WILL win!

Looks like the new boss could be Arne Slot. Seems to have come out of nowhere to be odds on favourites with the bookies now.

Well it sounds like Corberan's signed a contract extension with WBA so it's now very unlikely to be him. It also appears Pochettino was never on the short list - probably because there wasn't a realistic chance of him coming to us anyway - and I don't see Postecoglou leaving Celitc at this stage either. So of the people being mentioned initially it seemed either Iraola or Knutsen looked most likely but Slot's now a late entrant to the running - from what I've read he seems a bit light on experience for the immediate task at Leeds though?

Have to say I'm a little bit surprised we pulled the trigger on sacking Marsch without having a replacement lined-up but Radrizzani is talking about a possible announcement tomorrow so maybe things are moving quickly behind the scenes. But given our current position they really can't afford to get this appointment wrong so let's just hope the board know what they're doing....

Slot looks like an interesting choice, Feyenoord are top of the league and all reports suggest he’s doing a great job there. This is an interesting read on his tactics…..

This morning it seems between Slot and Iraola.

Slightly glad its not Coberan, he's done well with WBA but perhaps a bit too early in his career to be trying to save Leeds from relegation.

Can't say I know too much about him but from a brief bit of reading - including the article you linked - it sounds like he'd be a good choice. Apparently he was voted manager of the year in the Netherlands for the 2021/22 season ahead of the likes of Erik ten Hag which suggests he's no idiot!

Mind you, Iraola potentially sounds decent as well and it appears it's between the two of them. If so personally I'd lean more to Slot but that's only because it sounds like he has more of the sort of tactical brain we've been missing of late; Iraola may possess that as well but if he does things more the Bielsa way I just worry recently we might return to some of the chaos that was eventually Marcelo's undoing....

Yes, seeing it reported on newsnow that Iraola's turned us down.

Thing is, I can see Slot doing the same. Feyenoord are currently top of the league in the Netherlands so he's definitely looking at a good chance of European football with them next season, possibly even Champions League; that being the case moving to Leeds to get involved in a relegation battle might not seem terribly attractive....

Looks like a few are turning us down. I reckon we'll end up with Nuno Espirito Santo now.

On a positive note, a good point at Old Trafford tonight. Man U had won 13 on the bounce there till tonight. Some might be disappointed to lose the 2-0 lead we had but in reality that flattered us and it's a good point gained rather than 2 points lost

Would have taken that earlier today but perhaps they may be disappointed after being 2-0 up.

We just need a manager now.

No manager bounce! Or should that be 3 interim managers bounce I dunno.

Great match, a good point earnt at a difficult place for anyone to get points at all season. Onwards to our gaff where the atmosphere will be incredible.

Adams and McKennie absolutely bossed it first half, and wober gets better and better each match, solid stuff from the vast majority of the team actually.

fk it, we can draw our way to safety this season!

Sounds like Slot is back in the running... everything I've read about him seems like he'd be a great fit.

Last night was great/annoying in equal measure. We showed what we're capable of going forward and at the same time, showed how we can't defend a lead. People saying Man Utd were without fat Ronaldo and Eriksen but we were without our top goal scorer who was on fire this season and lost Sini and Pascal within the first 15/20 minutes.

I agree he sounds good but is he back in the running? From what I've read his contract with Feyenoord is pretty watertight and with them flying high he's not angling to leave in order to join us.

Looking likely our shortlist have all said no, just Slot to go but I'm not too optimistic.

Enjoyed last night (when I wasn't hiding behind the sofa) Willy - nothing to be said. Pleasure to be at the forefront of this young mans no doubt exceptional career. I hope we get a few good years out of him before he's scooped up for £70m. Wober - one shaky pass but overall utterly solid and arguably got us the point. It's so refreshing having a competent CB. McKennie - him and Adams will dominate that midfield. A debut start at OT no doubt and looked right at home and didn't let the pressure get to him, stepped up to the occasion. Also knocked Luke Shaw down a peg so bonus points for that.

Standout for me was Bill. One of his best performances I've seen in a long time from him. Had Garnacho in his pocket and made some unreal tackles.

This side is not a relegation side, not a chance. With some direction there is absolutely no reason we aren't top half of the table consistently, maybe even top 6.

Roll on Sunday. Let's turn ER into an absolute fortress and give them a pasting.

And thats been the annoying thing since the start of the season - the quality in our squad is head and shoulders above most teams in the bottom half so the blame for being where we are sits squarely with Jesse Marsch and his tactics. Last night showed that.

Felt strange waking up annoyed at having dropped 2 points when in reality we did well to get a draw last night. Agree with the points above, we looked miles better than we did under Jesse. Need more of this on Sunday, imagine the scenes if we win against that lot at home

If you read between the lines of what Skubala was saying pre and post match, it feels to me that his message to the players is 'you are good enough, this team can do great things, its yours to go and get' and I really like that. Maybe it comes from spending a lot of time with youths etc.

I wasn't really aware of him before but theres no doubt there are good people to stand behind and be the deputies to whomever ends up the next guy at the helm.

Elland Road will be absolute bedlam at the weekend. Fingers crossed...

I agree it shouldn't be a relegation side but the same applied to the squad we had back in 2004 and we all know what happened then! Being good on paper counts for nothing, it's what happens on the pitch that matters and there's no such thing as being too good to go down....
