10 points from 6 league games for the new manager. A tough run-in, but at least it looks like we have a bit of fuel in the tank, and we came back from the Arsenal game in the right way, with a positive attitude. That could easily have sunk us. Damn close at that end of the table, but this result may have just tipped the balance in our favour.

For some reason I didn't feel worried when we went 1 nil down last night, our structure under Gracia is tenfold better, and the way we used the width of the pitch last night was great to see.

Most of the squad had a great game, we looked like a confident top 10 side the way we were pinging balls about and bossing the midfield, Roca for me was MOM but not far behind were Harrison, McKennie, Firpo even Struijk had a great game which so good to see.

Sinisterra also looked to be as good as the start of the season, his ball control is exquisite. Hard to see how Gnonto gets a sniff when he is in that form. Great finish too. A nice headache for Gracia.

Confident for Palace, actually looking forward to games now which is a change from the Marsch era, and who knows we might get a point from Liverpool too.

Gnonto didn't even get on the pitch did he? Resting for the weekend...

Bamford though - how many chances does he need? Surely Rodders or Rutter need to start ahead of him vs Palace. Our striker can't continue missing that many chances - he could have had 4 or 5 last night.

Great 3 points though and the scoreline flatters Forest to suggest it was that close, it wasn't. It should have been an absolute murdering...

Yes, he does seem to have brought some structure and organisation to the chaos we'd become used to under Marsch (and towards the end of his reign sadly under Bielsa as well). Whether it will be enough to keep us up remains to be seen but if we can follow last night with a win against Palace on Sunday things will certainly be looking much more positive than when he arrived.

However, it still remains very tight in the bottom half of the table and even if we do win on Sunday we won't be out of the woods by any means - I'm wondering if it might actually take 40 points to survive this season?

Said it above but the structure of the team and the fact that Gracia actually has a plan B/is willing to change tactics depending on the game means he's already better suited to the premiership than (I hate to say it) Bielsa and definitely Marsch who were just full on attack/penis ball with no width.

I like Gracia, I really do. I was reasonably pleased when he was appointed after his success working for the loonies at Watford. I know its early but signs are looking hopeful, maybe he'll stay if we can have a good end to the season? Read something that in 6 games we've equalled the number of wins we'd had in the previous 22 under Marsch.

I generally like what Gracia has done so far. Looking back it was obvious that Marsch was pretty crap and out of his depth.

I posted this on 25th October, after we'd just lost at home to Fulham.

I'm quite jealous of Villa, seeing how quickly they've addressed their manager problem by getting shot of Gerrard and getting Emery in. Seems like a decent appointment and the sort of thing Leeds should do.
Unfortunately, we then got a couple of lucky wins against Liverpool and Bournemouth, so Marsch stayed. But look where Villa are now, on the fringes of European places.

The table back then looked like this with Villa just 3 points ahead of us.

Yes, although I'm generally an advocate of giving managers time I was also one of those expressing unease about Marsch back in October last year. As you say, the results against Bournemouth and Liverpool probably gave him a stay of execution beyond the World Cup break but for me he always looked a bit out his depth managing in the PL.

Gracia does appear to have improved things since he came in and I think another four wins should see us safe - hopefully the first of those will come against Palace on Sunday as games at home against relegation rivals are ones where we really have to take all the points.

So, another day of table madness for the bottom 8.
Here’s how I see it.
Man City and Newcastle…..write off
Liverpool, Fulham and Tottenham possible points, Fulham look like they are in self destruct mode.
The rest are pretty much must wins.
I think Southampton and Leicester may be down.
However the two issues are Tottenham as a last game and I think 6 of the bottom 8 playing each other on the last day.
Don’t want to say it out loud but could do with Man United winning the game in hand they have to bring a decent gap for Champions League over Spurs.
I really hope we aren’t that team looking at others results on the last day……..

I think, or pray, that 12 points should do it……and should be possible.

Add Forest to your list and hopefully we have 3 "winners". 1 pt in 5 games for both them and Leicester.

You won't need 12, that would require require Forest to get 14 and Leicester 16 to name but two

Yeah, good point. Don’t see Leicester getting those points but Forest have had a taste of what a run can do, hopefully they carry on as they are and loose the manager too.
West Ham on the other hand, they are just unpredictable I think our game against them could be the most important…..

You don't need to worry about West Ham if Forest Leicester and Southampton continue in their present manner smile

I'm actually most worried about Southampton [Everton fan] but the bookies have them as a "sure thing" at 2/9 and TBF I don't think they will stay up, just that (a) they have shown some glimpses and (b) I'm not worried at all about Forest, and Leicester will need a dramatic turn around that I don't see happening (currently).

Btw, Forest remaining 4 home games: Man Utd, Brighton, Southampton, Arsenal. We all know how awful their away form is, trips to Liverpool, Brentford, Chelsea and Palace won't net many points

Shocking performance in that second half.

Yep. Losing at home to a relegation rival is bad enough but the second half was a complete capitulation and you can only hope that performance doesn't affect confidence too much for our remaining games.

To give Palace credit Eze and Olise were excellent for them - as was Johnstone in the first half - but that second 45 minutes was as poor an effort as I've seen from us at ER in a long time; outclassed and outfought all over the pitch.

Christ almighty that was a bad second half. I really hope that's just a blip on what has been generally a good run since Gracia came in. Maybe the new manager bounce is coming to an end for us and Palace enjoying theirs.

Total and utter collapse, and it happens to everyone now and again, just a bit leedsy for it to happen when we quite badly needed the 3 points to give us a bit of a cushion of safety.

As it is we are back in the relalegation mix somewhat, although I do think it's Forrest Southampton and Leicester down this year.

So it appears that not only do we have to pay £15.5m to Leipzig for Augustin, off the back of that he's sued us for a 5 year £80k a week contract and we have to pay him £24m as well

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/other/leeds-lodge-...

That's £40m for 48 minutes of football, what an absolute shambles

Makes Thomas Brolin look like a good buy

If Orta was responsible for this shambles he really should be out of the door. If Radz signed it all off then he should be having a serious look in the mirror

It almost makes Rutter look like good business!

Really dropped a ball there, could cost us massively if/when we get relegated.

What a disgrace, blatant Trent elbowed assist isn't a handball and even the commentators can't see it. Hate moaning about top 6 bias but it's worrying how poor the officiating is in this league.

That's a fking disgraceful decision. And then to say it's too far back in play to check.
