Pep Out ??
I was happy with Mancini, to be fair. I wasn't arsed at all about Pep coming to replace Pellegrini.
Don't know whether that doesn't make me a 'proper' fan (but I actually go to games, unlike the rags) or not but i'm not massively impressed with where we've gone.
I was at the QPR game (Aguueeeerrrrroooooooooooo!) and I was quite happy with us until about then. You could rely on Vinny for the majority of games, I was happy with Joleon as his partner. Micah/Zabba as right back, Silva always performed, Yaya always performed, Barry and Milner, even Nige De Jong. I know, players get older and lose form a bit, but the money we've spent on 'squad development' since then is pretty embarassing.
We've sort of taken a funny turn whereby we've invested so much money in players and not seen significant development of the club (aside from getting a little but further in the CL this past 4/5 years).
I'd rather be the smaller club in Manchester, and sing about never winning at home or away.
I don't want to be a Blue who ends up with a club throwing money around left, right and centre, but i suppose it's a little too late for that now.

I was happy with Mancini, to be fair. I think we are going in the right direction, we have one of the best academy set ups in the world, just need to get rid of the dead wood.
Sadly, I think we will always be second to United, (Maybe not on the pitch) if they expanded Old Trafford to 90,000 they would fill it most weeks, plus they have a huge worldwide fan base.
Several years ago I went to a friendly match in Malta between Birkirkara (Local club) and United, there was about 12,000 people in the national stadium and 80% of the Maltese were wearing United shirts.

Last season we had quite an old squad. I'd even go as far to think they were THE oldest squad in the PL.
We've got a fair few young players coming in now which has got to be a good thing. The forward line is a very good one, it must strike fear into defences when the see it.
But obviously there's problems at the back the main two imo being Bravo and the absence of Vinnies leadership.

To be fair though, if City win nothing this season will the owners give Pep another season?
Would think so, given the efforts to fashion the whole club around him before he even arrived. Not sure what happens if it all goes tits up again next season though - probably continue to throw money at it until he gets fed up and walks.

Would that be the same though now? Foreign 'fans' are pretty fickle I would guess. I have no idea why people from some far away land support an English club, mind. Presume they support the one that was won the most, or is seen most on telly, hence Utd. Even our friendly village builder down the road never mentions them when he passes the house now, whereas 2009-2010 you couldn't shut the bugger up ...

He is fking shocking, I simply cannot believe that a club with the resources of City have to rely on somebody like him between the sticks frankly. We've got a fair few young players coming in now which has got to be a good thing. Who do you think they will gun for as a replacement?
Bravos performance certainly has been shocking at times but I don't think he is a bad goalie. Maybe the EPL doesn't suit his style or his defence doesn't suit him. Who knows but he was pretty good at his last club and Pep rated him, so who knows?
As for a replacement?
I don't have any suggestions but it'll probably be someone I've never heard of but who'll I be on first name terms with and think they're Gods gift to goalkeeping within a couple of weeks.

The trouble with Mancini was he wasn't very popular with the players, he kept himself "apart" from them, whereas I suspect most of them now like and respect Pep.

I know what you mean but "always" is a hell of a long time. Ten years plus of City outperforming them both on the pitch and in the marketing/expansion department (which we are more than equipped and capable of doing) will see the red fog gradually turn to Blue sky on the world horizon.
Up until Abramovich arrived at Chelsea you would do well to see a dark blue shirt outside of London now Africa is awash with them and that is with little marketing effort.
Yoonited are an enormous well established corner shop whereas City are creating a worldwide chain of high profile professionally run supermarkets with Uruguay seemingly next to have a branch. Our owners employ the best marketing and development minds on the planet and failure is not an option. All this will ultimately benefit Manchester City. The City profile will be heightened in ways that Gill and his cronies could never envisage and eventually the shadow will fall on them.
It is easier to see this as a probability than it was to imagine what would happen in the next ten years when David Makin had to lend City the money to pay staff wages before we went bump.

Story of our season - chances not taken. Even though Aguero scored he doesn't fit in this team. The only time I remember him touching the ball was when he scored. Our problem is seasons long - we can't hold onto a lead after spending 150mil+ on centre backs in the last few years. As one commentator put it why are we still playing players (clichy) from arsenals invincibles in 2003.
