The Official Manchester City Premiership Champions Thread
Discussion
We are still light years away from making an impact in the Champions league....players like Lescott, Barry and Milner, whilst good players are not GREAT players....would they make it into a Real Madrid, Bayern or Barcelona team for example?
Also, as much as I like Bobby Manc, he is simply out of his depth in Europe, you can't argue with facts.
There is still an (outside) chance we can win the Premiership though, if we buy wisely in January and the new players integrate quickly.......
However, miracles CAN happen, look at the last game of last season.

To be fair, you are in a very tough group.
One wonders how Spurs would cope, had Chelski not fluked the final, had they been drawn in the same group as the Dutch champions, the German champions and the Italian champions/current CL champions.
I suspect we'd struggle to even win a point in the group.

2000 + season ticket holders not turning up today??
I have City friends who used to go and watch them when they were in league 1. Wouldn't surprise me if the stay away fans were the fickle newbies who joined up when they got rich. As for the boos at half time. Embarrasing. You've just won the title. Yes you're completely off the pace in Europe but as Chelsea found out these things take time.
Good 3 points for you. When you're not playing at your best keeping going is vital. No one will remember at the end if the season how you got these 3 points.

It always amazes me the step up from the EPL to the CL.As for the boos at half time. Embarrasing. You've just won the title. Yes you're completely off the pace in Europe but as Chelsea found out these things take time.

I feel the main difference is there is no fear in any of the CL teams, they are the best of the best in their respective leagues and believe that they can beat anyone. Whereas in the EPL teams will subconciously fear teams like Man City because of their quality and therefore setup differently.
re the boos at half time:
You wouldn't catch me booing my team but after 45 minutes without a shot on target against opposition (with respect) we should be walking all over, you can't really blame anyone for expressing their dissatisfaction with the performance so far.
And to be honest I've not noticed many new faces at all.
I'm not saying they arent there, but not in any numbers.
I still think that we can win the league ( premiership obviously ) but it's going to take focus- Utd are the big challenge IMO.

I'm amazed we're still 3rd.
Still playing poorly and Utd are deservedly at the top.
We haven't played any really decent teams yet ( sorry Arsenal and co, but you know it's true) otherwise we'd be dead and buried.
The only good thing though is that we're still picking up points and are undefeated.
We need to get back into top gear otherwise the Spuds are going to teach us a lesson.
