Bit of a meaningless friendly though wasn't it though?
Look how well the last team that won the trophy did in the league.

If you are in it, you should be in it to win it.Look how well the last team that won the trophy did in the league.

I was in the City end today (free tickets) and that was one of the worst displays I've seen for a long time. There were some big players missing like Aguero, Hart and Kompany but those three aren't gonna be around to play 38 games this season. Toure was shockingly bad. He was so lazy today, and doesn't deserve to be captain when Kompany doesn't play. I have no idea what Pellegrini sees in playing Clichy right back. Mind boggling. Jovetic and Dzeko aren't gonna score if they keep passing up until they're in the 6 yard box. Nasri was okay, would have loved for him to score in front of the Arsenal fans. Silva was good too, and even when he isn't trying, his ball control is still crazy. This new keeper is crap. Shouldn't have let Pantilimon go.
Was expecting more City fans than there were, but I don't blame people for not coming down. Tickets aren't cheap, they've been down recently a few times and trains have been a nightmare this weekend. Fair play to those that did make the journey though.

Have fun......after a fantastic BBQ and City at the top of the table
A fine win today, on the opening day of the season, against a very determined Newcastle side, but in the end, our class shown through and we were just too good for them, Aguero's fine goal at the death finishing them off.
It will take a lot to stop the City goal machine again, as before, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelski being our main rivals.
Newcastle will finish in their usual spot around seventh.
Look out for Burnley, they may be the surprise package.....
