Pellegrini has no excuses.
You lot have spent stloads. You should be top 2 every season. Along with Chelsea.
With the players you have bought/ money spent the blame has to fall onto the managers.
Shouldn't have to rely on 3 players if you have spent I don't know, atleast £500m? Not £10m players neither.

You normally sound like you know a bit but this time ... You lot have spent stloads. You should be top 2 every season. Along with Chelsea.

We have finished in the top 2 for the last 4 seasons. The season before that we finished 3rd on goal difference.
This season is far from over and I suspect well finished top 2 yet again.
All players are not the same and I think there's more than 3 players who could walk into any team in the world who play for City. (Hart, Kompany, Silva, Aguero and De Bruyne for starters),
Where I would agree though is with the quality of our defenders who seem hopeless when Kompany is absent. This problems been there for a while and signings have been made, but without success yet.
As Stuart says we have not finished out of the top two the last four seasons, the season before that we were third, currently we are third with our three best players to return. I full expect us to win this term, but we shall see.
I think City fans would have taken that six years ago. I remember watching them in the second division in 1965 playing to crowds as low as 8,000. Supporting City has always been a roller coaster.
I think you have got to get a sense of perspective, no club can win every game, as long as the players put a shift in, the trouble is City don't too often against mid table teams.
There are NO easy games in the premiership, look at Chelsea v Bournemouth yesterday.
As I said Stoke away is tough for any team.

Not really, the Britannia isn't the fortress it once was. We're actually better away from home these days.I think City fans would have taken that six years ago. I remember watching them in the second division in 1965 playing to crowds as low as 8,000. Supporting City has always been a roller coaster.

Fact is Hughes did one on you, tactically. It wasn't the atmosphere,it wasn't the wind,it wasn't hoofball or long throws,it was tactics and exceptionally good football.

Defence is awfully poor. Spent £xm on Mangela who's robbing a living out of being a footballer. God knows how he ended up at you lot who have Champions League targets.
De Bruyne is pretty good. Just don't think him and Sterling who are starters for yourselves will punish many teams. I don't think De Bruyne or Silva would walk into the Real Madrid, Barca or Bayern teams but any other team they'd be one of the best players.
Kompany is world class. Probably top 5 CBs in the world but when he's injured Demichelis/ Mangela just aren't good enough if City want to be top 5 in the world. Unsure how Ottamendi will do as it's early days yet. I assume it'll be Ottamendi and Kompany when both are fit?
I think long term if you want to win the Champions League some day Pellegrini will have to go. Your side is a force and whilst you can smash a team one day, you can be inconsistent the weekend following.

madness or just very bad luck?
Well no, its not bad luck if you choose to register only 21 players when you are allowed to register 24. They've got themselves into a situation where 7 injuries has left then seriously short of players which could have been easily avoided. But the bigger point is, by only registering 21 players do they really not have any more premier league quality players even with all the money they've spent?BCity haven't "chosen" to register 21 players. It's to do with the homegrown players rule. They've only been allowed to register 21.
. You might say then City should have signed more English players but that would have meant a) signing players that City didn't want for the sake of it b) paying well over the odds- look at the stick we already get and c) would have made a mockery of the millions we're spending on developing youngsters to avoid such situations.
So I would say it was bad luck that circumstances have conspired to injure so many of our best players and leave us short.
It was a risk that isn't pay off at the moment.

Do City ever bring home grown academy players through?
Yes and no.There's lots of loop holes about what constitutes a "home grown player" which most Premiership teams take advantage of.
If you're really interested read here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester_City_F.... about how successful it's been (and not just for us).
The long term aim is to develop more first team players. The money and effort spent so far suggests this will happen.
