Interesting that the stadium was originally built for athletics so not really football friendly. The noise doesn’t reverberate.
I have to confess that I was quietly hoping you’d stuff one or two past the arrogant bds but at 0-0 you are still in it. If Ronnie has tweaked his hamstring he may miss the second leg.
200 miles round trip - I know the feeling. I’m lucky to be home for 12:30 am after an evening game at Old Trafford although of late there has usually been plenty of time for a nap in the first half!
You are right in that it was built as an athletics stadium and as such the roof was designed to deflect the sound of the crowd away from the running track. When it hosted the Commonwealth games one end was left unbuilt so that once it had been handed over that end (the current North stand) was built further forward than the temporary stand to reduce the bowl effect and bring it nearer to the pitch. The roof of the new South stand has been designed to do the opposite and graduates towards the pitch as opposed to away from it. Don't forget however that when we took occupancy we ripped up the running track and dug down twenty metres or so. As a result pitch side and the lower tier is not a bowl. I have to confess that I was quietly hoping you’d stuff one or two past the arrogant bds but at 0-0 you are still in it. If Ronnie has tweaked his hamstring he may miss the second leg.

The main problem at the Etihad is that over the years the traditional singers have been split by the away support. The club have tried, and succeeded to a degree, in addressing this with the reconfiguration of the new South stand.
Having said all that other grounds such as the theatre of past glories and anfield don't have much of an atmosphere themselves these days.

You must be shifting a bit to get back to London in a couple of hours! I have to confess that I was quietly hoping you’d stuff one or two past the arrogant bds but at 0-0 you are still in it. If Ronnie has tweaked his hamstring he may miss the second leg.

Both of our centre backs are wearing gloves, in May, on the South coast.
Says it all...
Again, Bony, dog st, Sterling, not much better, Delph, out of his depth.
Only ray of light so far is Kelechi, once again.
Desperately hoping we get shot of Bony this year. Absolutely useless .

Absolute dogste.
Kolarov.
Bony
Delph
Sterling
Nasri
All out,... even if we have to lose money......Bony has had bad luck with injuries but that's no excuse....he did OK at Swansea.
Sterling was a decent player for Liverpool, again wtf!
Also I'm not a massive fan of Hart, saw him laughing at 2-0 down.....says it all.
One saving grace could be our superior goal difference.
Having said that, knowing City we could beat Real 2-0.......It's so frustrating.

Couldn't agree more, add to that Kolarov (a past favourite of mine) incompetent, Zab, unfortunately past it and it points to a summer clear out.Says it all...

We are supposed to have two world class players in each position but what we have is a worldish class first team and a second string who would struggle to make top half of the Premier League.
