City got a result in the FA cup this season when Swansea didn’t have VAR. Funny how this happens.
Spit it out lad, if you have something to say, let us all hear it. wink
I don’t agree with VAR. The game should be played on every pitch in the world to the same rules. One ref, two assistants. Nothing more.

You weren’t accusing City of buying the officials as well?

I care more about the spectacle that mathematical precision in decision making. It ruins the game to have to wait before you know whether or not to celebrate a last minute goal.

Having just seen it again and again, I agree. It was a goal.

VAR just killed football dead. Amazing game tonight.
VAR proved it’s worth and gave us a fantastic meme of Sterling celebrating, only to be denied soon after. Win, win. Win.

All said and done a fantastic game, both sides went at it and played football to win. Obviously biased as a spurs fan but If we had lost I wouldn’t have complained, the teams gave everything.

A great spectacle and advert for the prem IMO.

I’ve no idea what you were talking about. My only point was that in two games VAR and also the lack if VAR affected city. The Swansea result was a stinker because other games in the same round had VAR but Swansea didn’t.

Let’s play level playing field is my point. Same rules for everyone, every game, every level, every country.

VAR is going to lead to a bloody riot one day when the ‘wrong’ team gets denied.

I fear you may be right. But at least in the City spurs game the absolute correct decisions were made.

What a night of emotions! I went upstairs with 2 minutes of time to go to sit quietly on my own. I heard my Wife cheer when we “scored” but heard the groan when I was half way downstairs.
Life’s cruel!
Congratulations to Spurs. If we’re going out then that was probably the most exciting way to do it - unlike last season smile

I think we’ll slaughter them on Saturday now smile

Some further consolation in the fact that all you need to do is buy some good centre backs. Your defence has never been as good as it should be.

I can't work out if you're just trolling or not but anyway....

VAR is brilliant. It's dragging the game kicking and screaming into the 21st century. We know a lot of football involves cheating and conning/pressurising the ref. It's not right in any sport let alone the world's biggest sport and has to be stamped out. When referees make the wrong decision it's either because they've been conned by cheating players or they simply can't see well enough.

With VAR they can ensure the biggest decisions are the correct ones. What team wants to lose simply due to a decision a referee has had to make without seeing properly or knowing if the fouled player is just a cheating bd doing all they can to get a free kick/penalty?

If your team loses due to a poor decision you'd (and fans in general) be the first one slagging him off. Today more games will be won fairly than ever before and that cannot be a bad thing.

And breathe....

The elephant in the room being that VAR got all the decisions right last night, it just didn't go City's way.

Football is for watching. It's not a war or an election. I don't care that some decisions are wrong. I don't want to sit there waiting while some idiots look at a screen to tell me whether or not a goal will stand!
