5 years ago we got out of League 1, tonight beating Torino away. What a ride...
Hardly an achievement with easy TV rights money, more than 200m in two seasons. Wolverhampton is one of those clubs that almost complete floats on TV right money. Making a yearly budget possible that tops most EU clubs.Just hire a couple of mercenaries. And looking at your squad that what you've got: 7 Portugese players, 3 Spaniards, a Belgium, an Italian, Mexican. You even got a couple of English players of which just 1 made some minutes this EPL season.
The biggest achievement probably was getting out of leaque 1.

Sorry but that's a bit harsh, the majority of players could be described as mercenaries these days. I think they (Nuno) have built a very good team of (formally) unknowns, hats off to them.Just hire a couple of mercenaries. If it's hardly an achievement then I guess that's why so many other clubs are doing it for less; not forgetting all those other clubs in the Premier League that don't rely on TV money of course.Just hire a couple of mercenaries. Our English players consist of Conor Coady who was a bang average championship midfielder who now hasn't missed a minute of football for us since January, Ryan Bennett was a free transfer from Norwich who didn't think he was good enough, he has also played in the EPL this year. Morgan Gibbs-White is an academy product who has played in the Europa league and played a decent amount last season. Matt Doherty is Irish but was signed for less than £100k so I think it is unfair to suggest that we are built on foreign mercenaries.
Who do you support out of interest?
ETA The players we do have have all been young and/or improved by good coaching, I can't think of one that would be sold for less than we paid for him so hardly short-termism either.

You're best ignoring him/her. They offer nothing to any thread on PH other than to wind people up. We've learned to ignore on the MUFC thread , best you do the same! Our English players consist of Conor Coady who was a bang average championship midfielder who now hasn't missed a minute of football for us since January, Ryan Bennett was a free transfer from Norwich who didn't think he was good enough, he has also played in the EPL this year. Connor Coady played every minute of every game last season in our return to the EPL, as our captain as well.
Ryan Bennett kept his place in more or less every game, even with a foreign player to challenge him, and who remembers Docherty's foraging play down the right in every game. His assists were up there with any other EPL player last season, English/Irish or foreign.
So getting out of League 1 wasn't as big an achievement as geting out of the Championship? You're clueless.
A solid 30-32,000 attendance every week, but we're floating on TV money? It's our second season in the Premier League FFS. How about clubs like Everton, Southampton, Bournemouth. How are they surviving?
You make it sound like we are just surviving in the EPL. Remind me of our finishing postion last year...
And which teams we beat home & away to get there...?
But our 'biggest achievement was getting out of League 1'...?!

We're getting big enough to get Wummed on PH. Progress is obviously being made Connor Coady played every minute of every game last season in our return to the EPL, as our captain as well.

Yes probably best taking it as a compliment, I came to yours last season when you turned it round in the second half on us (Chelsea) but other than the result the atmosphere, especially pre-match, was terrific with all the fireworks and those flame jobbies proper toasted us !!I'm glad to see some of the (don't be offended) lower clubs giving the big guns a run for their money- can only be good for the whole league. Good recruitment and then good coaching can produce excellent results but unfortunately owners (& a lot of fans) are not patient enough for that to happen and just prefer to get the chequebook out. At Chelsea I'm hoping that we can build from the bottom but I fear as soon as the transfer ban is lifted the stupid money will be out again !!
