Yeah, you could see Boly getting pulled out wide too often to help out. Still, scoring first half goals is a nice new experience and we looked fluid and dangerous going forward.
Marçal looks like he's played with Podence for years and Saïss was extraordinary tonight. Couldn't be much different from the game at the end of last season and I'm delighted with the clean sheet as well.

I'll take that for a season opener...
Not sure about Adama in that position though.
Blades fan here and really quite jealous of Traore and Jiminez (Agree that that wasn't Traore's natural position though...I would be surprised if your manager doesn't sort that). Not sure about Adama in that position though.
Strong from Wolves - two early goals then real defensive resolve in the second half. Should stand you in good stead this season. A deserved win.

I was a bit worried before the game, Sheffield are a tidy side. You'll be fine this season I think.
I think we've benefitted from not playing any pre-season games this year, the hunger is there to see.
And I can't see Adama settling at RB, he likes attacking too much and is incapable of the discipline that the role demands in tracking back.
Marcal looks a good buy. No nonsense stuff, didn't stick out.

Agree with all of that. Man City apart we've got a decent run of games up to the transfer window closing. I can still see us getting someone in but I can also see why they aren't panicking. Even with the spending we are net negative so far this transfer window and according to Tim Speirs the Cutrone deal was an obligation to buy on Fiorentina as long as he played enough games, so there will be another £15M coming in. Plenty for a RWB. I think we've done some great business this window and look like we have decent options off the bench now.

LOL, Portugal "inspired" 3rd kit, top trolling by Wolves. I really like in tbh.

Jota gone then. I'm a little bit gutted but £40m for him is decent for a player in about the only position we were overstocked with. Nuno obviously didn't fancy him any more and he's slipped behind Neto and Podence. The potential is obvious and if anyone can get it then Klopp can. This will be a transfer window we look back on in the next few years for good or bad. Nuno has done enough to earn our trust though and this money reinvested can push us into the top 6.

liking the third kit, much better that the second/away kit (although that seems a grower)
A bit shocked at the Jota sale. Yes he hasn't been at his best recently, and boy that's a decent profit on a player that cost us what 14 million euro(?). But gutted to see him go.
He'll either fulfil his potential and make us gnash our teeth forever more or Liverpool will sell him in a couple of years for half the price. That's the tricky thing about this transfer, not quite sure how to feel. A bit shocked at the Jota sale. Weird game last night. We were completely dominated in the first half in a way that I've seldom seen, even against top teams. The 2nd half was decent though and but for poor finishing we could have nicked a draw (undeserved but wotevs).
The sooner that Semedo comes in the better as Traore was horribly exposed defensively, only influencing the game when he got forward. I'm not sure what happened to the Vinagre who had Trent on toast a few times last year, he looked bereft of confidence last night, even Boly was casual at times. Podence and Neto showed why we let Jota go IMO, that nutmeg on KDB was brilliant.

I'm not too bothered by the result. A few chances we should've put away but instead went a few inch wide, and for us to respond in the second half as we did, against City, with Marcal off injured, Adama playing out of position, and Boly/Vinagre having a shocker of a game, I'll take it.
Glad to get one of the tough games out the way early on while we're still bringing in players and the newbies are getting settled.
I think that when Semedo comes in, and with Adama then able to play in the position he is made to play, alongside having Neto, Jiminez and Podence around him - It's going to be rather fun to watch. Podence quickly becoming my fav player.

Well I didn’t see that result coming, we looked dreadful...
Indeed, but after our performance against Man C, it isn't that much of a surprise. Whereas, we were poor versus Man C, I didn't expect West Ham to be so technically better and play it around us so easily. We were chasing shadows for 90 minutes and that's the second game that indicates we aren't as good as we think we are.Easily the worse match I've seen under Nuno. He has a serious job on to turn it around.
We have gone backward with the loss of Doc & Jota - although we need the new arrivals to bed in, I guess (why is it always Wolves that need players to bed in, as if they can't play football till we get them??).
