Great result, not a great game.

Hoofing it to the big man up front and hoping for the best when you've been played off the park... No doubt it can be effective, but it's bloody awful to watch.
Disagree, one of the best games I have seen in ages. Football doesnt have to be beautiful passes to be an incredible game to watch.

The spirit, the drive, the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat and I'm not a Chelsea fan. The enjoyment in watching the game came from the resolute, we are all in this together never say die spirit.

This whole the only enjoyable football is champagne football is nonsense.

Question. If JT had not been sent off would Chelsea still have won or would their original game plan benefitted Barca's style more.

Just a discussion we are having in the office this morning.

I prefer their tactics when JT was sent off

what a night! fabulous stuff from chelsea. gritted, dug in deep came back from 2-0 down with 10 men against the best team in the world on their own soil, and scoring two fabulous goals as well. bring on the final!

negatives though have to be that we will not have Invanovic, TJ or Ramieres in the final.

As an Everton fan, I was never a fan of Torres, but that picture is brilliant! That was precisely how I was feeling when he was running up, onion one with the keeper. Still can't believe I got to see that game. Still stunned.

And I thought the 4-4 at the weekend was a good game!

Agreed, great picture. Although I don't remember any onions? hehe

Surely for such a great team like Barcelona someone must have thought about trying to bring Chelsea out by giving them more of the ball . Chaldea deserved it fair and square

And once again

Great game, really enjoyed it. I am a 'Hammer' but always had a soft spot for the Blues so really pleased with the result. I bet I enjoyed the game a lot more than most of you guys tho.

Good luck in the final.

Does anybody think John Terry will ever grow a brain ??

Bl00dy hell, what a game, just about back on planet earth now. Fairytale finish to the game - after Barca pen miss, shot hit post, just started to get the feeling it was meant to be....

Looking forward to reading what LimJim has to say about it!

The 'best game' doesn't have to be about flowing, etc. it is about the emotion, and the events therein. The sending off, the fairly quick 2 goals they scored, and then the stunner from whatsihisname who will miss the final. Then the valiant defense, with 10 men, in the Camp Nou against the best team in all the world. Then the fairy tale break, with the 'crap' striker getting a goal, after being one on one with their keeper, and scoring, certifying the win not on an away goal, but on outright goals.

As I said, it was Roy of the Rovers stuff, and arguably it was the cockily behavior, and the sending off that probably meant that 'most' football fans were rooting for the 10 guys remaining.

On the topic of poor Ivanovic last night

Geoff Shreeves - "We've got Shaun Wright-Phillips here. Shaun, great goal today. What does it feel like to be adopted?"

Blimey...there's a line you won't read often.

As a Chelsea fan I have a soft spot for West Ham.....it's a patch of quicksand on Rainham Marshes.

The John Terry issue bothers me somewhat. I supported him through the previous stuff - shagging around and his race accusations, and thought he was harshly treated then.

Most previous stupid sending offs are later forgiven somewhat - Beckham, Rooney, and even a couple by Drogba. But this seems to be in a different league. Maybe because it is so recent, but part of me feels he will have to go. England captain in the summer?

Also, am I right in thinking bookings etc from the CL cannot be appealed against? Not for JT but was thinking about the others.
