Whilst I'm excited about Bernard (when the deals over the line!), and it's great that we're being linked with Gomes I'm more concerned about us at the back than going forward. Zouma doesn't sound like a great signing, although he's probably slightly better than what we've got, we really do need someone else in otherwise we'll be trying to win every game 5-4!

Beaky has just said on TalkSport that Everton staff are going to Barcelona for Mina's medical. Fingers crossed!

Beaky aint wrong Medical staff went last night with a view of wrapping up the deal. Looks like its happening

PS Gomes having a medical also, don't know how true that is, but if it is we are defo splashing the cash. I just wonder if Usmanov in on his way over

Gomes is meant to be a loan, hopefully he stays fit as he's not known for being fit for long. Still think we need another centre back though to go with Mina.

But Richarlison, Digne, Mina and Bernard in with the amount of players gone is a pretty good window. I don't think we'll make top 6, but if we're playing decent football I'll be happy with top 10 and continue to ship out some more deadwood next summer

Wrong thread or some petty trolling?

Do we need to crack out some Everton in the Community stories? wink £59k is small change compared to what eitc have done for the city over the years.

Not baiting but to Liverpool FC have a simialr charity? I genuinely dont know!

Anyway roll on 5pm. Hopefully Mina and Gomes are in blue. Coyb. Nsno.

Sky, TalkSport and others reporting that Bernard and Mina are done, reports in France that Zouma loan deal has been agreed with Chelsea.

Besic has gone as well for £6m, wondering if Bolasie is going to follow him out of the door too

Not going to get excited. This time last year we were all saying what are great looking team we had. They were a shambles. Utter shambles.

I always worry about foreign players from hit countries that don’t like cold wet Northern mid week matches against teams they’ve never heard of.

Totally with you on that, however, we are now competing in the transfer market! I could only dream of that 5 years ago!

I think Utd May well be in stormy waters this season, a couple of defeats and Maureen will be under pressure.

As far as we are concerned player for player this seasons buys are a lot better.

Mental that they all came off! Very excited to see how they bed in.

Get your head around this:

Highest spending European clubs from summer 2017 onwards (figures in €, source: transfermarkt)

1) Barcelona 465m
2) Juventus 410m
3) Chelsea 397m
4) Man City 388m
5) PSG 373m
6) Liverpool 350m
7) Everton 295m
8) Milan 269m
9) Man United 247m
10) Atletico 225m

Mental. Shows you cant spend your way to the CL. This window shows that the new owner and board are serious about Silva and Brands.

I cant get my head around our new outlook. Even if we fk it up again!

Oh and add another £500m for a new stadium on top!

Not really, Arsenal are a little unkown but I have a feeling they may do fairly well this season.

Is that total spend, or does it take in to account income from players sold?

I'm not sure that's the plan for this season, looking at Silva and Brands you get the sense that things will happen but not overnight. I reckon our last minute activity was down to Silva having the chance to watch the team for a few games before deciding we had to make signings. Once he finds the right balance I reckon we will do ok and I'm hoping for some good football, as opposed to the turgid rubbish served up last term. COYB
