There has already been talk of Pickford to United. Although I'm not sure many plyers would want to go there at the moment, the club is a basket case at the moment. I can see De Gea going sooner rather than later as he doesn't have a huge amount of time left on his contract, although I think United can extend it by a further year if they wish

Got those vibes this week.

When the game is on I will be flying down to the Sun in Cape Verde, my nephew as strict instructions to text me the score at the final whistle

will he want to take a step down from his current position then...?

United are in jeopardy of an implosion. everyone can see it but no one wants to call it in case it doesn't happen.

It would be a backward step.

You'd like to think so but it really isn't is it - are you basing that on being 1 point ahead of them in the table?

On any reasonable measure Utd are a much bigger club
They'd double his wages
They will spend their way to get to top 4 eventually
There seems to be unrest there but they will kick JM out if they have to and sort things out.

Most players will be tempted by a United offer except for (some) players in other top 4 teams

I'm not sure there's much in the story to be honest. Jose will more than likely be gone at the end of the season if not before, so I doubt anything would happen before then. And I'm sure that the new manager will have players in mind that have nothing to do with the paper talk of today.

However if they did come knocking for him and he wanted to go, then sell him. However it would need to be a hefty fee as we don't need to sell him. We're not up to our arse in debt these days, so we don't have to make a profit on transfers to pay down the debt like we have in the past. I think that all bar maybe 3 or 4 clubs are selling clubs these days.

No not basing it on league position at all Manure have been crap since Fergie left and show little signs of turning it round this season, OK Jose goes who they going to get, not fared that well in Managerial appointments of late.

Oh they have some big issues and I'm loving it but you've had a few of your own although Silva seems to be doing a good job so far.

How many times have Everton finished above United during their difficulties? United have won cups including a European one

Yes I agree they have been successful in the past as were Everton second longest continual stay in the top flight, but you cannot live on past achievements. In this PL age,Manure are mediocre at best and really are a mid table team.

I wasn't talking about the past - last year they won the Europa league and the league club. That was during their crap phase. They are a massive club and any player other than a staunch Evertonian or Silva's son would choose them over you if they were going to play regularly (which Pickford would if he replaced DDG). Then you add the massive pay increase on top......

If you don't see that then let's agree to disagree smile

It's derby day! Anyone going? Watching?

I may not be a coward this year and watch it on the telly in the local rather than go incommunicado for a couple of hours only to check the scores later...

20 years ago I watched in the pub full of reds proudly wearing a shirt smile Surely this is the strongest squad and best chance we have for years?

A proper curse Anfield. Der redmen will be unbearable again.

Just hoping we have a go at them unlike the last few seasons where we're scared to even think about the win. If we push up, counter and show the spirit we have of late I'll be happy even if we lose.

A result today would cement that the tide has turned at last and that it's not just another false dawn.

We did well at Chelsea and were still looking to snatch it at 90 minutes, suffered at Man U and have dispatched the teams we usually let walk all over us.

I just want to see some confidence shown today and true pride in the blue shirt. I want the pace and drive to continue this afternoon.

Just wish we had a true striker to turn these chances we create in to goals.......we've got 4 or 5 great forwards now for the first time in ages, but no dedicated striker to take advantage. A crying shame.

Excellent first half for us. Really gave it a go and unlucky not to have got something from it. Part of me thinks Lukaku would be happy with the service he'd get here now.
