No, It burns me to see Rafa relegated, does not mean that Rafa burns me, as a Liverpool fan I'm quite fond of the man, "it burns me", as in it makes me a little sad and angry, to see a team he manages relegated rather than the aforementioned loathsome Allardyce character. Gods, I didn't think it would need parsing out to any extent...

Spurs 1 - Southampton 2, depending on the Man City v Arsenal result later today it is possible that Spurs might need those three points in the final game of the season to be sure of second place. Oh dear.

That might not matter if we turn Everton over on Wednesday.

It won't matter if we turn over Everton. My comment was more aimed at those on here who seemed to think Spurs would be on beach for the last game.

Hmmm, looks like Spurs will need at least a draw on Sunday to ensure 2nd place. I can't see Arsenal not beating Villa, only the really terrible teams haven't managed to beat Villa this season.

True true. Still, from our own perspective I'd rather not have to rely on that being the case.

It ain't over yet, no matter what I keep reading in the papers.

Maybe we will lose to Everton and Watford, Newcastle will fall to Spurs and Norwich will win both of their games and stay up......

silly

I'm guessing he had money on them to beat Villa, I mean who couldn't beat Villa at least once this season?

Apparently it was a bet on a Champions League game, can't see the big deal personally, if that is true, rules are rules I guess.

Rumour mill is turning about Rafa staying even if your mob gets the boot from the Premier League.

On the down side, Hudderfield and Rotherham are uninspiring.
But Leeds could be lively!

Goodnight Premier League. So much for that speech by Ashley this time last season. Too little too late.

Hope Rafa stays but wouldn't blame him if he walked. He came too late to save us and that has to be down to Charnley who should resign.

We're down and deservedly. Been uninspiring all season; lacking desire and belief. Yes Rafa seemed to inject a bit of life into us, but we still couldn't get the most important result against villa. Will be a shame to see Rafa leave as he does seem to have something in him, with a bit of a clear out over the summer he might be able to make a team to get straight back up.
Now I have to hope Brighton don't do the playoffs so I can watch them at the Amex, but previous efforts haven't been much to cheer about.
Toon toon, toon army. Still love ya!

Rafa Benitez, from the Champions League to the Championship in a season.
