Definitely. Probably more than one.
Empathy....
Says more about you than me. Empathy....
You brought up Chelsea's owner in the 70's and how you endured poor ownership then. Short memory of how it felt now you are a billionaires toy, I guess.
Most football fans enjoy the misery of others as well as their own success. If that's not you, then you're the weirdo, not me.
Name calling now?
I'm a weirdo because I simply don't want to see a terrific club like Newcastle run into the ground by poor ownership. I know what it's like because Liverpool were hours away from bankruptcy due to negligent owners.
You couldn't care less.
You may be a Chelsea fan but as a football fan, your attitude surprises me.

Interesting article; but it looks to place the blame solely onto Benitez whilst briefly touching on the failins of the club as a whole. At least one Inter fan has some sense, as found in the comments section:
Inter Fan said:
The demise of this club started in the summer of 2011. When our coach at the time (Leonardo) decided he didn’t want to be a coach anymore. This resulted us being linked with quite a few coaches, Andres Villas Boas, Marcelo Biesla, Fabio Capello and Guus Hiddink. In the end the management failed miserably in their search for a big name coach and ended up hiring Gian Piero Gasperini.
When it came to transfers the management really out did themselves. At start of the summer the clubs main target was a young Alexis Sanchez, the player had been heavily linked with a move to Inter for over a year and the club tried to sign him in January 2011. Once the summer arrived you couldn’t go a day without at least 1 rumour linking Sanchez to Inter. Unfortunately Branca failed to close to deal and Barcelona came calling for Sanchez. Inter ended up signing an unknown player called Ricky Alvarez from Velez.
The club also wanted a ball playing midfielder and the media at the time had us heavily linked with a move for Valencia’s Ever Banega. We also had links to Riccardo Montolivo on a free transfer. Arturo Vidal was another player we had been linked with but according to Branca we didn’t need him. Despite the fact that our midfield was old, slow and had no energy. Our midfield required at least 2 signings and the only player we signed was Andrea Poli.
And now for the club’s biggest mistake of the summer the sale of Samuel Eto’o. Not only did we sell our best player and top goal scorer( 37 goals and 15 assists) but we sold him in the last week of the transfer window at a pretty low price of €27 million. This resulted in the management panic buying in the last few days of the window and we ended up with Diego Forlan and Mauro Zarate.
This Mercato seen the clubs stature and reputation fall dramatically. Not only did the management fail to get a competent manager they failed to get their top target, sold their best player and signed a bunch of average players ( Forlan, Zarate, Alvarez, Poli, Jonathan and Castaignos) and they all flopped.
Rafa Benitez has been a pretty poor manager over the last few years and he made alot of mistakes when he was at Inter but I can’t blame him for the mess that this club has been in. The blame lies solely on the management.
The simple fact is that in recent years, although we have taken our managers to task for failures, we've always levied the majority of the blame on the ownership and management of the club. Pardew, McClaren, Kinnear etc didn't give themselves the job, they were employed by the club. Their failings are the club's responsibility and the fans have repeatedly expressed their anger at that. When it came to transfers the management really out did themselves. Thankfully Mike Ashley has decided to take a backseat for the moment (probably due to the fact he has his hands full with the Government), so the club can be ran by the manager as it should be.

I dislike Man Utd, think their a bunch of dirty glory supporters through and through; but even I felt bad for them when they were dealing with all the Glazer crap. Noone likes having their club taken away or run into the ground.

Beaver King,
The Inter fan you quote (who still agrees Benetez is no good) seems to have overlooked that after all the stuff he references happened, Mourinho came in and won the treble!!!
I was in Milan this weekend just gone for the derby (which was amazing by the way, everyone should go at least once) and talking to fans over the weekend, Inter fans pretty much loathe Benetez, and AC fans love him.

Strange and irrelevant to bring Leeds into it.Maybe you should organise a Just Giving page for Leeds Utd, if crap ownership of once great but now nothing clubs worries you so much.
I will bow out now. You have proved your class and you are a worthy Chelsea fan. It's why you are universally loathed outside Stamford Bridge. Give me Newcastle and their fans any day. You are welcome to the last word, should you feel the need. I won't respond.
Newcastle fans, sorry for slight thread derailment

ellroy, did you get mugged in London or something? Never come across someone so bitter to our fair capital.
Where does Ellroy come across as bitter? Apologies if he's been posting anti London stuff on other threads. I've seen nothing on here to suggest he's bitter. No one can deny the teams he mentioned have more than their fair share of ahole supporters but I fear I've crossed swords with you before on this matter. To be fair though he really doesn't like Sissoko so is it that??TwigtheWonderkid said:

Certainly true we've had our share of poor owners (really wish you'd kept Ken Bates at Chelsea!) and we've been in the wilderness for years as a result; I still have faith we'll be back in the Premier League one day but very much doubt it will be this season. In the meantime I wish Newcastle all the best for a speedy return - the top flight is poorer without them both on and off the pitch IMO. ray von said:
