Ignoring Paddy's understandable, and in fact admirable, cynicism I'd like to ask another imponderable.

What has Tim Krull done wrong?

I wondered that, always seemed a decent keeper before he was injured. Maybe he's an ahole behind the scenes?

What odds that Gayle is sold and no replacement arrives?

Any takers?
Keith Downie was saying that you guys are done for the day on Twitter so if Gayle does leave then you were bang on the money

Penny pinching window which I suspect will cost us Rafa and probably the league. I fully expect this season to be an embarrassment

Can't see Rafa staying long term after this.

He is our only hope of staying up now, who the fk would come to this club when Rafa does walk?

Absolutely no ambition from Ashley other than trying to get his money back. Fat bd.

yes

Best dig the mega-rich-buyer voodoo dolls out gents. It's the only thing that'll save the place now.

To be honest, I would'nt blame Rafa one bit if he up and left, I don't think he will, and I hope not.., he's a man of honour.., but it must be galling for him to have to work with a treacherous bd like Ashley. I sincerely hope last weekends game was some sort of turnaround for the mags, however if not, then to me they are only good for a top three championship level team.

We started slow and got better as the game progressed, also the new spaniards are competative and I think will improve as the season goes on.

I thought that we played some good stuff in parts, took us sometime to get into things in both halves and looked hugely better on the break. Great header, but their defence needs looking at as well for that.

Ritchie was lucky to get a yellow I think, but it's about time we had a bit of luck.

As well as Lascelles played, and bar the goal he then had to rescue he played very well, I thought Joselu was brilliant, especially in the latter parts of the first half.

Very happy overall.

I had to take my daughter back to the witch this afternoon, so avoided all football untill just after 6pm.

Twas a nice surprise to see a clean sheet, 3 points and some apparently decent, committed performances.

I think Joselu may well surprise a few people this season.

3 on the spin. Excellent work.

Made the game far harder than it should have been today by not taking the chances we created.

Still, 3 points is 3 points and currently 4th in the table rofl

Enjoyed that game, was biting my nails when crouchy came on as he has had some good ones against us in the past.
The guys are working really hard and as a team, Ritchie especially is really playing well.

yes

Merino looks to have some class to him too. So.e really neat footwork and composure on the ball.

On one hand we should have won by 3 or 4, on the other we're at least creating those chances in order to miss them.

Over the course of the season we'll need to be more clinical and take those chances, mind you. This league is very unforgiving in that regard.

Yes Merino looks a decent player and at least can keep his cool, like you said at least we have created chances today as it is worrying when we only have a couple of chances and end up scoring one.
Its Raffa's way of playing though as he was the same with Liverpool.

Tim Krul gone, permanent deal with Brighton today.

Very odd one this, truly don't get it.

How does that work whilst the window is closed out of interest?

We really really need a decent striker, ones we have are not good enough for this league.
Also the game we are playings worries me as if the oppostion score before we do we most probably cannot reply, also thought we looked out of sorts today missing 50/50 tackles etc.

We were a little behind the curve today, but apart from their goal, which was very well worked, they didn't threaten that much I didn't think. If we'd got a draw I'd have thought that was all we were worth.

So a point lost from my seat, but all's not lost yet.
