Anyone heard rumours about Matt Richie leaving to join Stoke?? Apparently Townsend is coming in to replace him. Few people have mentioned it to me but I can't see why one of our better players would want to go back to the championship again... u less a deal is on for Shaqiri perhaps

I’d be sad to see him go as I think he’s a decent player. If the rumours of 75 grand a week are true, it must be sorely tempting. As much as I like him, I don’t think he’s likely to have those sort of opportunities very often. Hope he stays.

Given the numbers, about £15m, to get Townsend in I’m not sure he’s that much better. Certainly good, but £15m more than Ritchie? Not so sure. I’d be more inclined to keep Ritchie and spend the cash elsewhere in the team frankly.

Totally agree, I think a proper striker would make more sense.

Be fair, when I watched England cruise to a 2-0 Qtr final victory i couldnt help but feel we missed Shelvey

We could have left TAA behind this time to accommodate Shelvy. TAA was never going to get more than a token chance this time around.

Behave. Central mid? They tend to pick up a booking every 4/5 games on average.

Certainly Henderson/Kante and the like are in that ball park, so as to go half a season unmarked by referee is worthy of note and belies the point as to why he was not in contention, or at least the official version.
