Swap deal with Gayle and Rondon looks just about tied up, with option to buy.

A swap deal? What the hell is going on at Barrack Road?

Where’s the cash? I know it’s a private company, but when your business model effectively needs you to stay in the PL to survive, and prosper, to not be spending money on the only “staff” that can make your product in the only window of opportunity to do so seems hugely odd.

We know about the amount TV has put in, public information, we know the profits on sales. Where has the cash gone? It stinks. Is fraud too big a word to be bandying about? But it doesn’t seem to stack up in any way at all.

The playing staff is threadbare beyond the first 11 and we are even struggling with that. I had hoped Joselu would have been bought by SAFC, but we are faced with the prospect of him getting time on the pitch, at least from the bench.

It wouldn't be so bad if we had a strong youth setup but that's got no better in the last 10 years either.

Praying for a takeover this year but I think the most likely scenario is Rafa leaving at the end of the season. Ashley will then line some other mug up to be his mouthpiece (maybe Pards!).

If WBA are willing to do a swap, Gayle being proven in the championship but not outstanding in the Prem, for Rondon then it begs the question why do we think its an improvement and why do WBA want to part with him?

There is money going WBA way I believe, so they probably see it as an asset to sell

Update: Rondon in the Toon to sign.

Also The Times reports that MA is unwilling to spend money not yet received, so as we await funds in for deals that cash in unavailable to spend. An approach different to pretty much every other club in the world.

While the business part of my brain lauds this approach of not taking on debt, assuming this is true, why the hell does he not just match cash flow payments out with those in, thus freeing up the capital for Rafa?

I don't imagine a question concerning MA which cannot be answered by my previous answer.

Really? We're in League One, we can't afford players like that!

Shouldn't have bought 'em, or kerb the direct debit if it's paid for via one of those schemes.

As if he was ever going to change his tune; been hearing for years about how the fans will walk away because of how he carries on, he's ripping the piss out of you all.

Hope you lads get it sorted; chumps like him are a stain on decent footy.
Just imagine if he was to buy West Ham. I think you'd explode.
The sure fire ruination of West Ham would be cause for much enjoyment in fairness to the lad.

The double swap is complete.

I do like how the media don’t seem to understand that there’s a world of difference between an option and an obligation mind. I’ve seen loads of reference to there’s no obligation to buy, but that’s the same even when there’s an option to do so......

Rondon is hard working, strong, holds the ball up well and if he could hit the back of the net would be worth 40 mill.I do not think he could hit 15 goals a season if he played for Barcelona, i do welcome Gayle to the hawthorns though.Good signing for us.

You’ve got a decent championship goal scorer and no mistake.

A shame for me, as I reckon together they could actually be a decent potential partnership.

Well we’re reaaaallllllyyy trying to sign, on loan, a full back from Barca.

The issue ‘is’ a work permit one.

What odds “we tried” being trotted out at about 6pm tomorrow evening?

Anyone else looking forward to the inevitable “no more business” on Sky sports at about 3pm?

Sick of their lies.

That old chestnut? We've been on the receiving end of that one a good few times ourselves over the years; bloody useless.

Best of luck lads, looks like you're gonna need it - cheaped out on again.

You to AK. The lad from Swansea, if its gets sorted means we've only turned a £20m profit, on top of the wages saved, during this transfer window.

Where's all the cash???

Allegedly the offer to Swansea was derisory so they dismissed it out of hand. No surprises
