Waited up to watch the half hour highlights.
Wished I hadn't.
Was it really that bad?
Wondered if Sky had biased the coverage.
Palace seemed constantly on the attack, we looked lost.
Nope it really was THAT bad. I think that was one of the worst performances I've seen this season. Diabolical.

We deserved to lose. That said, that was a pen all day long. I thought we might turn up last night because we had more time in between games but we looked tired and chased the game for the most part. I'm still not sure why we don't play Tino on the right, Hall on the left with Burn and Schar in the middle. Surely that has got to be a better setup?
It was far less of a penalty that the foul on Eze in the first half, that wasn't given either. Ands face it, there was absolutely no need for him to fall over because Hughes brushed his arm, he should have just taken the chance to shoot.

Like Liverpool and particularly wham, this wasn't because Newcastle didn't turn up, the result was because we outplayed you from the kick off.

Nice to see Smug Eddies hideous rotational foul system he perfected at Bournemouth fail for a change

I agree you outplayed us, played well, deserved the win etc, but I'm going to have to disagree that was the only reason for the win, we genuinely didn't turn up last night, we can play a hell of a lot better than that, if we'd played as well as we could then it would have been a lot closer. That was one of the worst performances I've seen from us this season.

Anyway, fair play and good luck for the rest of the season. smile

Palace have played well lately and have had some very deserved wins, last night included.

Tino wasn't fit, only on bench for inevitable injuries. Hall did ok when he came on.

I hadn't realised Tino wasn't fully fit. We've got one hell of a starting 11 when all are available but we're seriously lacking in depth quality. I hope we can do some good business in the summer.

We were slow and lacked the motivation to go and win the ball, most of the team were bad last night.
What annoys me most is when players half heartedly go in for a tackle with no real intention to win the ball but for us to think oh well he is trying, unlike Joelinton who makes sure his presence is felt.

Was that him that lost the ball in midfield before the second goal as could not make out who it was ?
I think the initial mistake was Murphy?
Thought it was Longy, gave the ball away at 46.04 https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001ym3x/mat...

Quite literally a game of 2 Halves. We were pretty ropey first half, poor in possession. Second half we have destroyed them.

First half we rode our luck, seemed like the previous game all over but the second half the game totally changed.
Good results also elsewhere for us.

7 points from Spurs, Palace and Sheffield United is probably what we thought we'd have / take pre-Spurs, so I think we're where about where we should be.

Burnley drawing at Man Utd is great for us.

Think you’re right there.

We’d have taken 7 points.

Well done Burnley, keeps things very much in our hands as regards Europe.

No idea what Eddie said at half time but could he not say it at the start in the next few games?

That second half is how we need to approach our remaining fixtures. An incredibly important couple of games coming up. Win those both and that puts the pressure on Manure even more, particularly as they have Palace away, then Arsenal next up. Building up for a great game on the 15th.

HWTL. Huge finish now!!!!

I would rather have our next two fixtures than manures.

15th May might be tasty.

Nothing much to add. Eddie Howe must have threatened then all with a transfer to Sunderland.
For those who have criticised Dan Burn and Martin Dubravka this season - did you watch this match. Both worth first team players.
Looks like we're fighting for 6th place with 5th probably unreachable. Spurs 7 points ahead and two games in hand. Mathematically possible but...
Howay the lads.

Think I said this last year around this time but I would love it if we can finish above Man United, love it.

They are playing arsenal today and have a horrible run in. I think it'd take Newcastle taking all of the remaining points but I think it's possible, albeit very unlikely.

I’m with you all, Spuds run in is awful, but we need to win all of ours to have a sniff.

The way we’ve been recently I don’t see it. We can absolutely batter a team and yet get turned over next time out against ‘easier’ opposition. So that seems to me that we’ll fall short. Overtaking manure though? Entirely possible.
