I suppose the advantage to Townsend is he's pretty much guaranteed to turn defence into attack and actually get the ball down to the oppositions area all by himself.

Townsend was good, he looked like he worried the German defence a bit.

Walker dovetails well with Townsend. Walker is also fast at recovering and is very attack minded. He's not great I'd be the first to admit but at this point in time there is nobody better suited to the position.

He was also rated as highly as Gerrard, Rooney and Lallana last night.

Townsend has been Englands stand-out player since he arrived in the first team bar none - and like most Spuds I'm not a fan of his but fair play to him, he's almost indispensible now.
