I think its a great appointment for Ipswich, Sunderland were struggling in the Championship when he took over and he took them straight up.

As for former ManU players being crap managers?

George Graham, Steve Bruce, Barry Fry, Mark Robins, Gordon Strachan, Mark Hughes and Steve Coppell have all done dreadfully haven't they????
Shouldn't you balance your argument up by listing former Man Utd players who haven't made good managers in the same time frame as your list above ?
Or I could add more sucessful managers Darren Furguson, Chris Casper....

Incey, Great at Macclesfield and MK Dons not given chance at Blackburn
Robson took Boro' up and to two cup finals, less successful at WBA and Sheffield but how are thise three teams doing now, in Europe Challenging for honours??

Is that what you were looking for???
It clearly wasn't want i was looking for because you have done the opposite of what i suggested. Honestly, nevermind banghead

Barry Fry? A United legend, 0 appearances and 0 goals (obviously) in the period 1962-64. He's not exactly Ryan Giggs, is he?

He's straight out of the keegan book of 'quit if it looks a bit too much like hard work'

when o when will people learn that just because you played for man ure it doesnt automatically make you a competent manager...?

bryan robson proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt....
Well he did do well with what he had at Sunderland.

If the person who pays your wages is not on speaking terms, but shouting terms, then why bother staying? As your life will be made as difficult as possible.

I would rather wait and see what someone can deliver, before passing judgement.

Wasn't too sure about this appointment to start with. The result yesterday was good. My only concern is players putting in good performances because they know they are out of contract soon. Contracts renewed and it is back to the same old half arsed efforts. We have seen it before.

Keane claims to have learnt lessons from Sunderland, so we shall see.

He spent over 50million (of someone else's money) and then fecked off at the first sign of trouble....thats my 'judgement'

this will do nothing for ipswich and merely serve to add a little more to the keane pension pot...

I would rather wait and see what someone can deliver, before passing judgement.

2 out of 2 for Tractor Roy.

Very honest after the game too, no excuses for some of the shocking play in the second half.

Looking forward to next season.

7 players let go!

Blimey, looks like we'll either

a) spend shed loads on replacements which could turn out to be equally as bad
b) utilise more youth players such has seen a decent return in previous years

Hmmmmmm

Not convinced, but we'll see come next season.

Yes but look at who the 7 are.

Ivan Campo.
Tommy Miller.
Billy Clarke.
Dean Bowditch.
Chris Casement.
Jai Reason.
Kurt Robinson.

Out of those only Billy Clarke is/was worth a punt. The others are hardly leaving us with a crippled squad.

As a Sunderland fan I wish Ipswich all the best with Keanes appointment. He will certainly raise the profile of the club.

However the bloke is mentally unstable. His man management skills are unusual to say the least eg. entering the dressing room at half time during a reserve match and informing all the players that they were "st and will never play for the first team". A proper confidence speak that one Roy.

Prepare for lots of great signings at inflated prices (£80m spent by Keane at Sunderland).

The bloke (Keane) is not right in the head.

I concur. It is one of the best things to happen to you in a long time.
Long may the brilliance of Roy Keane continue to guide your club. He is a football genius.

Nice to see him help provide the result Sir Bobby would have wanted against the Toon at the weekend. How selfless of him.

Bottom of the league

Worst home defence

Worst away defence

He'll get one more game, if he doesn't win, he'll be gone.
