Today at football I predicted a 3-0 win to Sunderland (albeit a Titus Bramble hat-trick...) but I still can't believe it!

Superb performance from the lads! Not one weak area for us on the pitch today and everybody gave their all, couldn't pick a man of the match personally.

When Onuoha scored I was jumping around like a right tt hehe what a goal!

We were WORLD CLASS!!!

The pub was packed, there was Me, one Chelsea fan and the rest of the lads here in Huddersfield were all cheering the red n white cause! My poor little Chelsea mate took some right stick!!

Only thing is I was popping out for a couple of beers to watch the game, ended up getting utterly leathered!!!

I'm now sat at my desk at work feeling like a bag o ste.....but still smiling!!

shoutWE WERE BRILLIANT.....SUNDERLAND SUNDERLAND SUNDERLAND!!!!!

Glad it's not just me - my post match swifty turned into something a bit more significant. But my cheerful mood this morning is bettering my hangover!

Well, another win has helped us sit in 7th at this midway point of the season. Glad Henderson grabbed himself his first premier league goal of the season, and it was a well taken goal. Defence looked a bit dodgy but we managed to keep a clean sheet and it was a decent performance.

Gyan, Bent and Welbeck played well together although it was odd to see Bent go off.

After last week's defeat, this was a good response.

Well done Sunderland.

Loads of Empty seats today , that must be a worry for Niall & co

Congrates to Sunderland though , they seem to have bounced back really well after the Newcastle drubbing

Yup, three points and the Hammers really didn't trouble us. I do hope they start to pick up results as the Prem is a better place with them.

On the attendance front, it was freezing cold, it was on telly (how many times have we been on the telly recently???) and it's pre-Christmas (a traditionally poor time for attendances), so 37k not too bad....

Talkste were singing our praises on the attendance.

Just how good is Gyan? (and his mate Mensah for that matter). Fantastic signing(s).

Well a good result that, Cattermole perhaps lucky to stay on the field but the first yellow was a bit harsh in my opinion. Gordon with a magnificent save to keep us in the game just before half time, he's got cat-like reflexes. Glad to see Welbeck get another goal (can't see us signing him at all now unfortunately!) and another clean sheet with a makeshift defence.

Hopefully "the rock" isn't too badly injured and will be back for the next game but I've been fairly happy with our defensive performances without Bramble and Turner (although undoubtedly they're our best 2 - Mensah if he wasn't injury prone). We're joint 5th... well we're 6th and deservedly so!

Best player today for me was actually Bardo, he's been fantastic at left back all season!

That Gordon save was Monty-like.

Too right. Monty-like, Banks-like, just brilliant. When he's fit he's worth every penny of £9M. I just hope we can avoid our usual Christmas collapse, if we do, this season could be good. Even very good. Looking like Titus will be fit for Manure, which would be a boost.

Been a bit quiet on this thread with Sunderland busy going about their business.

Where do you start?
Bent - Couldn't believe the news but lets face it, something wasn't right and although I was surprised when the transfer happened, it was a good bit of business.

I'm annoyed at Bent for the badge kissing, tweeting how he loved the club, fans, area, then jumped ship. The usual bks followed "as soon as I knew Villa were interested", "Massive club...", blah, blah.

As Keane used to say...we move on.

Sessegnon & Muntari - I never thought I'd see the day when a top player would leave Milan for Sunderland. Very happy with both signings although I admitt I know nothing of them but what I've seen on the internet is very very promising.

Transfers out - Da Silva I wish all the best. Didn't really work out at Sunderland but still a terrific player.
Reid & Healy I am glad are off the books. Healy especially was on a good contract.

All in all its a good time at Sunderland and looking at the crazy money being spent today, I think Quinn, Bruce, et al have done very, very well.

We've had a good January transfer window, adding some pace and steel to the midfield and getting rid of some players who were surplus to requirements.

Da Silva had a great world cup but just didn't seem to be able to perform at the speed of the premier league, good luck to him, Reid and Healy.

Bent, well he didn't look like he wanted to be here from the start of this season but considering all the affection he's had, not to mention the support and guidance from Sir Quinn and Bruce, the way he left was a joke. He's gone from a team perfuming well this season to a struggling team that he's labled as a "big club." 24 million for him is good money though which can be re-invested on players like Onouha come the summer time.

The addition of our 3rd "black star" is fantastic, I'm confident Muntari will slot right into the squad and give us some much needed physicality in midfield. Ssesengnon is unknown of sorts to me (he's good on FIFA...) as I've not got the Internet at sea frown but I've heard he's good and I'm sure Bruce has done his homework.

It's been a long time since I've seen so much quality in a Sunderland squad. Can't wait to get home!

I'm getting worried. Very worried.
With the players at Sunderland we would not be in freefall.

I'd be interested in the thoughts of someone that was there today.

My current <possible kneejerk> reaction is Bruce can't turn this around.

quite surprising how bad their downfall has been - they were up for the uefa spot a few weeks ago!

wba did well to nick it - dont know how well each team played but sunderland shouldnt be 3 points up from a team like rover who are in a dog fight.
