Thankfully I was only partially correct. Apart from a few seats being ripped out anda few isolated 'incidents' outside/on Metro, it seems it wasn't too bad after all.

And just for note, the two youngest players on the pitch (one of whom scored) were Sunderland. And Sunderland's midfield general last night was still in primary school the last time Newcastle beat us. hehe
and yet you're in 2 leagues below us

Yeah, that's exactly what I implied. yes

I know what it is and what it was - I don't need or want any lessons from you, as you appear to be making my argument up for me and then debunking it, you abject melt, learn to read.

I dont seem to recall you impying anything.

Angry little person arent you.

Did you not get fed over Xmas?

So angry and bitter rofl

I have had quite a few chats with NUFC fans on here and they have all been alright, apart from you, seems you're the problem here. So very angry. rofl

Aye our first team beat your kids, as you'd expect, not a big game for you though, despite you selling more away tickets for this than home tickers for the leg before it. Note when our youth lost to yours last year (a true nothing game) no SAFC fans were on the NUFC topic making excuses and carrying on like you are on here.

As Trump is want to say on Twitter: VERY SAD jester

It's strange, the obsession that NUFC fans seem to have with SAFC seems only to have intensified this season, despite us being (temporarily) two leagues below them. You will no doubt have heard of the fairly regular attendance of NUFC fans sitting with the away fans at the SoL this season - what the hell is all that about? And the songs claiming they'd seen us crying on Netflix - so they'd watched a documentary about SAFC, right....?

I see no reason for all this bks - healthy, good humoured banter is great, and thankfully that's what we typically see on PH. Whilst there's clearly a lot of local rivalry out there, it really doesn't need to manifest itself with so much aggression and/or (at times) violence, and we certainly don't need any reflection of that on a forum where we have all supposedly come together due to a shared interest in cars.

I was born and raised in Newcastle, my family are all NUFC, as is my other half's, as indeed is my eldest son. I honestly want Newcastle to succeed, I just want Sunderland to succeed more.

To be honest, that is mostly just drivel mate. When have i said I am firstly a NUFC fan and when did we have a chat?

It does appear you are a frequent poster on the NUFC thread though. How strange for an SAFC fan

What excuses have i made and in relation to what?

Not sure English and comprehension is your strong point is it wink

yuck How do I ban people? hehe

I was born and raised in South Shields (and Qatar) so I've a 50:50 split with mates and family as to Sunderland and Newcastle fans. I just want them to be more miserable than us is all. Is that so bad?

The same view expressed from opposite ends of the same spectrum!

I've seats from Roker Park in my garden, a Black Cat tattoo, a 'brick in the wall' at the SoL, a model of the SoL in a display cabinet in the lounge (otherwise full of oriental wares from my past lives overseas), a tea chest full of SAFC Programmes from 70's onwards, etc, etc. So my loyalty towards the club cannot be questioned, even if I am a very proud ex-pat geordie!

And I used to be a shareholder but got compulsory purchased when Drumaville arrived.

I also know Charlie Hurley, who unfortunately isn't that well these days - but have shared more than a few beers with him previously.

An affliction for which there is no cure!

Death does it. My grandad is the reason I'm an SAFC fan, he's long dead though and has been relieved of the burden!

Cheers, gramps irked

hehe Fair play, I never actually saw a game at Roker Park, my first Sunderland game was the opening game of the Stadium of Light, Ajax IIRC. The mustard kit was on display in the second half (I have since bought it again, this time in an adult size). I was at Wembley when we lost to Charlton, I cried though I still maintain it is the best game I've ever seen, live or otherwise.

I remember my dad had a section of the pitch from Roker Park in our back garden. It was pristine...for about 6 months before our ste grass took over

Two games at Roker as a young 'un. I can't even remember who they were against - bloody useless! wobble

Another draw at the weekend, eleven this season, we're making hard work of this, we've been missing the ability to kill games off for a couple of months now, blergh!

Not sure when I'll next get to a game. I have absolutely loads on my plate, travel wise, frown

Is it a fair comment to say that we are just relying on teams being worse than us and still struggling to get results at the minute?
It may be rose tinted glasses and a feeble old mind but the last time we were here, after a stuttering start, once Gabbiadini signed we played some canny football and handed out some pastings?

I think that's fair. In 87-88 under Dennis Smith, we had Gates and Gabbiadini who scored 40 between them, and we also had John McPhail, who weighed in with 16 goals from centre back (albeit I think most were penalties). We just don't seem to have the same goal-scoring ability currently. To be fair, if we hadn't signed McLaughlin, we'd have been looking at a far worse position - he kept us in the game on Saturday, and has kept us in lots of others before that.

As an aside, I ticked one off my bucket list at a tender age in that 87-88 season. I was sat in the main stand (normally a Clock Stand paddock boy) as I had taken my then girlfriend to the match, and the ball ballooned into the stand, whereupon I rose like a salmon (at least in my rose-tinted memory) and stuck my nut on it, heading it straight back onto the pitch and into the arms of one of our players. Cue the usual chant in these circumstances of 'sign him on, sign him on, sign him on.....etc'. My 15 minutes seconds. We won that game 7-0 (Southend).

We started slowly, picked up the pace and put some good results it but since mid December or so it has been below par, IMO. Portsmouth losing a couple has kept us in about but Luton currently look pretty bloody good, Barnsley playing well too.

We've missed the chances to bury a few teams in the first half now - very sloppy and eleven draws is surely a sign that we need to up the ante and find that killer instinct again.

WWW woohoo

Hopefully we'll do our thing in the EFL Trophy/Checkatrade Plantpot tomorrow night too so that we can get a trip to Wem Ber Lee biggrin

I know of a few SAFC fans that have turned their noses up at the idea of the competition but hey ho, if we're in it we might as well be in it to win it!
