Aye, banter aside, well done. I watched the game and you played well and deserved to win. You'll have to settle for the Wear Tees derby for at least another year though ;-)

Don't tell anyone I watched you on TV this afternoon but the FiL is staying with us for Christmas so I put it on for him.
Think you deserved to win, certainly didn't deserve to lose. You had most of the possession, most of the attacking moves, some slick work up the right wing at times but your finishing was moderate at best. Still, as long as you are ahead of 'boro...

Quiet on here.
Ticking along very nicely.

Joe Gelhardt is a brilliant signing and after Ross Stewart picking up what looks like a nasty injury, he will get games.

Doubt Simms will be back. Any new Everton manager will want to look at all his players.

Yesterday's game was excellent from the lads.

On a negative note, just how st is the club at communicating? After loads of unanswered phone calls, emails, contact forms, and finally a 'letter before action', I've got a response when lodging a PayPal dispute.

Previously they could have had a fortune off me for a large hospitality party but chose not to respond.

If they were in any other business, SAFC would be bust within a month.

How about that then? biggrin
What's the saying? - It's a funny old game.

I was already comfortable with not reaching the payoffs. The team have had a brilliant season and there is so much talent there. Considering the injuries it's just bonkers whats been achieved.

Tony - I pulled a face when you arrived. I bow down to what you have done. Brilliant.

Whatever happens now, this has been a crazy but excellent season.

Totally agree, what a season.

2 & maybe 3 big games ahead. Luton will be tough but I think with the support they can do it.

I fear for them in the Prem though, such a jump, but will worry about that if successful.

Looks like i'm back in here offering congratulations.

A brilliantly supported club, I hope you make it back to the Prem' and it gives us Ipswich fans hope that we can compete next year too as you've not made wholesale changes to do it.

Bonus points for Mogga (ex-town legend) reaching playoffs at expense of Blackburn who let him go!

And great news for Ipswich! Smashed it this year.

Couldn't agree more Monkey I was less than thrilled when Big Tony joined however what he has done with such a young threadbare squad is incredible. Alex who???

Anything from here on in is a bonus. Feels great to finally have a club and a team to get behind as a Sunderland fan.

Two brilliant goals. Happy with that.
Luton a physical side.

We have a brilliant team. Lots to be positive about.

You played well in the second half, will a one goal advantage be enough in the second leg? You'll need to contain Luton somehow. If they score early in the match, with the crowd behind them, they'll be hard to contain. Good Luck.

Exactly how it panned out frown

Obviously disappointed at the result but given our injuries this year, the playoffs was a massive bonus whatever happened.

Well done to Luton. One of the most physical sides in the league. Happy to kick lumps out of us. If they get to the promised land, they won't be known for their silky skills. I know where my money is going for the most red cards.

Watched it, (as a NUFC supporter with family ties to Sunderland but I try not to talk about that).
Sunderland played well enough with a decent bit of skill but it looked as if they'd arrived intent on defending their first leg result and playing for a draw. Sadly as I predicted last week, it didn't happen. They had much of the possession, and made regular sorties into Luton's half but who ever had the ball was on his own or may as well have been, with maybe one other player in attendance. They could go it alone or pass to the other but there was never anyone in the box or near to it until desperation set in with about 10 minutes to go. Going it alone, there were inevitably 7 or 8 defenders to block any move. Even ASM or Isak couldn't have broken through that.
Talking to my BiL later he echoed your comments, he was chuffed to make 6th and anything else was a bonus. Apparently they've been short of a striker (obvious from watching last night) and he's hoping they regroup and strengthen for next season.

Sunderland fan here, fantastic season for us (optimistically) I hoped for a top ten place. Considering the number of challenges we faced: manager switch in Aug, youngest squad in the league, main striker injured, alternative striker recalled and no central defence for the last 2 months all with many un-proven youngsters. This week a montage of all our goals scored was collated, I can’t remember ever seeing us score so many quality goals in a single season.

So.....promising signings so far. The squad jet off to the US this week (if they haven't already).
The injured players are progressing well.

Really confident about this season.

Behind the scenes we are still an utter st show. Away top sells out online, website crashes, and the home top is delayed.

Ipswich fan, obvioulsy taking it all in what you're up to!

Like the look of your signings, all young and bags of potential, but have experience too....Tony appears happy with them too, not envisaging a win on the opening day, but would like to give you a good game of football.

We've literally signed one player so far (Jack Taylor from Peterborough) and only have one senior striker (Jackson is more of a winger now).

Looking forward to being back in the Championship though.....will be a tough season for us I suspect, you guys have a great opportunity to build again.

I have a mate who is an Ipswich fan so glad they are back up. The Championship is a tough league, especially this year. There are some really good teams.

Looking forward to the first game against you beer Hopefully we will also have another striker on the books.
