I think we'll do a mid table again - stringing some brilliant performances together then losing a few on the bounce in typical Sunderland style!

Gordon has broken his arm again. He was singing the praises of the young new keeper (Migolnet) so I wonder if he'll be thrown in? Fulop was left out of the trip to Portugal so I'm guessing he's off. The only other keeper is Carson.

I do worry about Cattermole. He got injured a lot last season and seemed to be rushed back. No news on the website so maybe he'll be fine.
I think mid table too but with an improved squad I can see us pushing for the top 10 but I think we'll just miss out.

I heard about Gordon's broken arm but he recovered fairly quickly last season from it, it certainly didn't affect him as a goalkeeper, and Migolnet is nicknamed the "hockey keeper" or something, apparently for his great one on one success rate. I've also heard Carson is good but haven't personally seen him play.

Fingers crossed Cattermole is fully fit for the start of the season, but we do have Riveros who could partner someone else in the middle.

Can't wait for it all to start, I'm back in the UK on the 14th biggrin

Think its another season like the last one, maybe get 10th spot.

Must admit though as much as I like the new away kit I won't be buying it due to the ridiculous sponsor!! Tombola for fks sake...reminds Me of my old school spring fairs!!! Looks even worse being printed in lower case letters too!

i really dont like the new away top either.

i mean i know sponspors are all about money etc, but i would happily take a £50,000 loss on a sponsoship deal if it meant it wasnt rediculously stupid looking.

last nice away shirt for me was the blue and black stripe one, but it was like gold dust to buy, checked around christmas time and they had none in stock, and never saw any since.

Latest rumour is Bruce is trying to sign Bramble from Wigan.

Don't really want to see Titus go. He's been good (bar one or two games) for Wigan, and is a good solid defender (on his day). Worth well more than a million.

I think Bruce and his big fat head is turning S'land into Wigan II.

And James at the SoL for talks - he could cover until Mr Gordon returns...

Very poor performance last night against Brighton - lucky to scrape a 1-1 draw against Brighton. Was trying to get to the Algarve for at least one of the games... but ended up in Mumbai instead....curse

Tight-Arse Bramble

He's not getting any younger yet doesn't have that touch of class or composure that is required in a CB to help us move up the table. A backwards step IMO.

If you're talking about the Nike one, then I managed to get one. Thought about ebaying it recently though cos it's an XL and I wasn't even XL when I bought it. It drowns me now!

I rate both kits - and some fashion writer bird in The Sun gave the away number a 10 out of 10!

Well, bugger me, you go away for a few days sun and it all goes off! Jones out, Mensa, Onuoha and Wellbeck in, N'Zogbia and Bellamy targets.

On balance this is all good methinks?

Feeling a tad more positive about the new season - Bruce clearly has a plan...

Me too. I was alarmed at the Jones sale at first but he can be so frustrating. On his day he is unplayable. Unfortauntely those days are few and far between. He played a stint at centre back during pre-season which showed Bruce tryed to accommodate him.

Cattermole made captain for this season.

Okay, after two disappointing results where do we stand on Bruce?

I'm not usually one for saying get shot of managers but I've dreamt of Martin O'Neill at our place for years. He'll surely get snapped up soon, so I hope Quinny has got a discreet phone call lined up, if he hasn't made one already.

Only 2 games in and we played well with 11 men against Birmingham, even with 10 we weren't too bad, just our new back 4 haven't quite gelled yet...give it time smile

Today though was typical Sunderland away from home - ste. We didn't look threatening and our free kicks were woeful. Even with 4 strikers on towards Carson had an easy time.

I'd like to see another big man upfront, see if we secure this Gyan bloke.

Storming second half today - Steed, Bramble absolutely immense, great save from Ming, Citeh couldn't cope with Al Muh..'s pace, Bent did what he does and Rico had Johnson in his pocket - don't think I can say anything bad at all about anybody....

Happy bunny tonight! More beer methinks! bounce

Sadly missed today's game, played football from 1-5 so heard it on the radio on the way home. Chuffed to bits as it sounds like a good second half performance and not a single booking! Heard that Welbeck looked like a good player, hopefully a sign of things to come.

Glad we have our first win under our belts.

Did you win? My vets team were 3 down with 8 mins left last Monday, drew 3-3, last minute penalty, ring any bells?
