Local stealers suggest it needs doing now - 56 plate car on 30K.
Sounds about right time wise?
Anyone any recommendations for central wiltshire?

think the mileage interval is higher than that but it needs changing on time anyway as now 5years+old.

Yep sounds about right. Just booked my 57 GB270 for it's service and they've said maybe do it. They've quoted about £150 more to do the belt at the same time.

2001-2007 cambelt change is at 50K miles. 2008 0nwards between 60K miles to 66K miles.

Water pump issues on newage Imprezas aren't that common although i've heard of a few on pre-2000 Legacy and classic impreza.

I've seen water pumps come off plenty of 100K-120K mile newage scoobs being rebuilt and the pumps still look perfectly serviceable however, come rebuild time you'll replace both oil and water pump as a matter of course.

IMHO i wouldn't be changing the water pump if there's nothing wrong with it just because you're doing a cambelt change. If you're going to do that you may as well fit a new oil pump as well while you're at it even though there's nothing wrong with it.

next seen a water pump issue on a subaru.. avoid pattern part ones if you do change it, the blades are rubbish compared to OE.

Oil pump deffo worth checking and rebuilding if not replacing.
