Very nice Don. Would look even better with a bigger spoiler
Been there done that, prefer it being somewhat discrete Here's mine
Purchased today for the princely sum of 600
Has a slight misfire when cold, a tiny bit of rust on one of the rear arches and the top spolier and one wing mirror needs a respray.
Was traded in at a dealership a friend works at last weekend against a 318i. Believe the chap was from Swindon if he is on here ?
Currently trawling the interwebs trying to work out exactly what model it is, definately an import. Still has the flare and all the Japanese stickers
Needs some black OE wheels to set it off ?
ETA; It doesn't feel 'that' fast. Is this normal ? I haven't trawled through the paper work yet to see if its been on the rollers ever but has been decatted etc from my brief inspection.

Tony,
I don't often post here, or many other fora for that matter, but I wanted to comment on your car. I had a few Imprezas years ago, one of which was a 2002 UK Prodrive Impreza Sti, much like yours of that era. I saw on Scoobynet (in its heyday...) that you had fitted the non Prodrive grille and that it really worked well with the 'bug eyes' and mono plane bumper of that pre blob-eye model. I copied you and was chuffed to bits with the improvement in appearance of the then slightly awkward appearance of the car (my car was black as opposed to your WR blue). I say 'then' as I think time has actually been more kind to the bug eye variant than to the blob and hawk, as they are referred to.
.
The good old days after my bugeye I had a 1999 JDM Type R, then bought a Hawk JDM Type20 which I has nearly 6 years and was awesomeI don't often post here, or many other fora for that matter, but I wanted to comment on your car. To the point. I actually like the 08-on hatch shape. The saloon, less so. Knowing that you know your Imprezas pretty damn well, why did you go for a saloon and a UK spec at that? Especially given that you have sampled and owned JDM variants, I really wanted to know what made you go for the 340R. This is not meant as a critique or a pasting, but given that you could clearly have afforded a Litchfield T20 etc. Why not?
Unfortunately came down to cost the Yen and 20% VAT and model report etc etc makes import VERY dear. IMHOI asked Iain Litcho the cost of a New 2011 Saloon and a standard JDM would be 44K OTR (with very little profit for him) plus 6K for T20 setup so car would be 50K OTR compared to 35K for the UK
Now I love my scoobs but not that much ,)
here are my old scoobs
My first Scoob MY99UK DBM
My 2nd scoob MY02STiPPP
My 3 Scoob was a MY99 JDM Type R
My MY06 STi Type 20
ASDA Charity day at Bruntinthorpe
If I blow myself up like a fish will he slow down :wtf: NO
I am "Imfamous" for my Scooby Crash at Castle Combe Japfest 2004. Total Driver error but thats life, you live and learn

You know what they say....You're not driving fast enough if you don't crash
Clearly you were on it
Just a shame about the tank slapper effect otherwise you'd have pulled it off nicely.
