Given it's normally aspirated and running at 100bhp per litre, I'd guess any gains would be tiny. I also believe forced induction not suitable due to very high compression ratio 12.5:1 I recall.
Weight is also low, especially in stripped out version so little to gain there either.
Unlikely.

Toyota have a Supercharger kit in the works...... Subaru say forced induction is possible and the BRZ could match any current Impreza in terms of performance (e.g., STI)
Certainly, they'll be tuning options - this car's purpose in life is to act as an excellent base vehicle for tuners.

I really wouldn't be surprised if any old Subaru boxer 4 was a (relatively) straightforwards swap.... Including things like the 2.5 Turbo (300-350 bhp)
I think that depends on how much room there is in the engine bay and if it requires some remodelling of the inner wings and bulkhead not to mention the slam panel, and engine mounts might need relocating. Don't know if the gearbox bell housing is the same size/shape/bolt layoout as the Impreza. It might need an adapter plate of some sort. Until someone gets one of these puppies we won't know.Apparently this engine is smaller in dimensions to the impreza flat four so it is probably easier to stick with the original engine and work with that.

Getting a bit annoying that Subaru UK haven't come out with any official info since Geneva.

I was in the Subaru dealership on Friday and put myself down for a testddrive! God knows how many cold calls I'll have to put up with but I'm sure it will be worth it! (no doubt first drives go to those with 'nearly new' subarus that they bought from that dealership, and rightly so! You've got to get some reward for the depreciation, after all!)

When did they say a car was coming in for you to drive then?
Weren't expecting any until July at the earliest - was meant to be september but the interest (and I assume not wanting to lose out to Toyota) has meant they're pushing the cars out sooner.Gassing Station | Subaru | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
