Hey all.
I've picked up a second set of alloy with Toyo T1-R's on them... 2 are worn and 2 are like new. I was planning on buying 2 tyres so that I have 4 good ones.

So, questions:
1) Do subarus tend to wear 1 set faster than the others? This is so that I can put the old ones on the axle which will/should wear them less, and they'll even out over time and then I can rotate them.

2) Are subarus sensitive to having slightly (and I do mean slightly, I'd be surprised if the used T1-R's had more than a mm shaved off of them) more worn tyres on one axle? You don't have to replace them in 4's every time like the olden days of Volvo AWD systems do you?

Cheers.

My Bugeye owners book says to change in 4s but my 2004 Forester owners book says you don't need to. This question comes up fairly often, the consensus tends to be not to worry about it.

I have never replaced in 4's, apart from when I had new wheels, as my fronts seem to go first with a couple of thousand miles left on the rears. I always replace in pairs front and back though and would avoid different wear or tread pattern side to side.

Always done in two's don't know why, my tyres seem to wear down really quickly though and it was suggested this was because of my heavy breaking and taking roundabouts/corners too quickly! Not sure is that is why though?

The front tyres will wear quicker. Replacing in pairs is fine.
