I have a really rather annoying rattle in my left A pillar. It has a mind of it's own, sometimes it will go on for 5 to 10 minutes then other times not at all. If I give it whack it seems to stop it. Could a wire be loose or something? Does seem like something has come loose and is running amok. Mind you it is a good indication of how crap the roads are around where I live.

I had this on my 07 Fozzy XT after a windscreen replacement, it turned out that the fitters had damaged some of the A pillar trim clips when they did the job. I ordered a full set of clips from the dealer, changed the lot and everything is now like new. Does the left A pillar trim feel looser than the other side?

Broken clips, had it before, make sure you order a few more than you need in case you break a few when refitting, it's easy to do so * whistles innocently *

It's something I did myself, because the dealer is a few miles away from me (not the most economical cars!). Rang up the parts desk for one of the uk dealers that does lots of mail order (I've used both SG Petch and http://www.subarupartsstore.co.uk/ in the past) and they sorted me out.

Sorry, posted that in wrong thread.

Regarding the rattle though, all I did was peel back the pillar then just put the seal back around it. Hey presto, no rattle!
