Greetings, I'm currently looking for a project build to undertake at home. I'm thinking of buying a type r rolling shell or car and turning it into a similar looking beast to the rcm gobstopper. I would plan on preparing it to do track days etc. I however am unsure where I could get the wings and bumpers, as I refuse to pay the crazy prices rcm are charging for the cf stuff and Im not interested in any of the crap/chavvy body kits around. Any help/thoughts appreciated.

Try ABW. They are very good with bodywork and sell panel kits as well. Very reasonable prices.

Just looked at the site, they don't seem to offer the type of kit I'm looking for, especially as I want the front and rear bumper like the gobstopper car and I assume that they are rally bits as rcm built it from a wrc shell. Any other ideas?

I don't know if you have physically talked to ABW but they will do custom parts that i've no doubt they will mould themselves from scratch. tell them you want front and rear bumpers like the gobstopper and they will sort it out. They know their stuff, talk to them.

Failing that......

Or

This chap will do everything fully custom for you. 22b enthusiast.

This chap's main business is moulding things out of fibreglass i.e. swimming pools, ponds etc...but he is an avid Suabru lover and 22b enthusiast so does custom 22b body kits.

Some of the kits he makes are fantastic so firstly he is a fibreglass expert but with his love of scoobys i imagine he could make you any kit/body parts you wanted.

I've no doubts he is very good at what he does.

As for RCM bits, they are made of Carbon fibre so it's no surprise they aren't cheap however, have you seen the carbon fibre body kits and doors/panels Seibon manufacture.

Cheaper than RCM and some of their kits are pretty awesome.

Thanks for the comments, another angle Im thinking of - does anyone know where I could get a year 2000 ish 3dr wide arch wrc shell like the one mentioned on the rcm site here :

http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk/gobstopper.a...

That would be the best basis for my build I think. Cheers.

Have you thought about making enquiries at any of the dedicated Subaru breakers yards like Grade A Subaru?

There was a wide arch type r for sale on 22b.com, don't know if it's sold already but worth a look.

Johnny.
