Help!. I've got a 54 plate Outback (newer shape) and the boot refuses to open. Is there a boot release from inside the car ?
Thanks.

Phil.

I had this the other week after the wife pulled on the handle whilst I was unlocking the car on the blipper.

Un-jammed after I pushed the external handle back into position funnily enough. I' d try this first, but theres also a manual release inside the boot door but you have to remove the trim to get at it.

Yeah, know the handle was dodgy and had to push it back into position before closing. Do I just pull off all the trim? Haven't go the manual because it's with the spare wheel which I can't get at because I can't open the boot......

Yeah, pull the panel off and theres a metal lever hidden behind it

It decided to start working again and yes, there is supposed to be a lever behind that panel but mine hasn't got one! Thinking I was going a bit mad I got the wife and a mate to look too and it's not there! Weird.

I did re tape up the wiring through where it goes from the boot lid to the car at the top of the lid. This is a common problem with the Legacy and suggest you all have a look. The FM radio became intermittent about 2 years ago and I discovered the wires were nearly cut through from the opening and closing of the boot over the years.
