Outback for £1200

None car interested mate has had a outback 2.5 from new for 10 years its a 53 plate.
It needs a cat, suspension bushes or worse and the engine sounds very tappity but its in great condition
He was offered £1100 trade in and I can have it from him for £1200 the mot expires ths month.
I've been thinking of a snotter would this be a good one?
He as been quoted £1k for the cat !!!! But I guess an indie wold b cheaper ora used cat as its a common engine surely?

Sorry but it sounds like a bad idea to me. Check out some of the Shed of the week cars. You can get a lot of car for a grand. This sounds terrible. Good luck.
