weird boost issue

Strange boost issue today , it went into limp mode , no cels no stored codes old or new , i checked all the piping including taking the interwarmer off but no sign of any leaks , car drove fine but max boost was .5 , i cleaned the boost solenoid and it went back to normal
it actually seemed to boost better , very strange , fingers crossed it appears to be solved

Are you sure it was a problem with producing boost as opposed to the ECU pulling it? Did you check learning tables at all?

0.5bar is about wastegate spring pressure, there are a few conditions in which the ECU will pull all WGDC - I'm not sure they'll all throw a CEL.

Also, more simply, if you have a bad connection to your bleed solenoid or it's sticking, you'll get stuck at wastegate pressure.

i got lucky it was the boost solenoid, i got a used one for 20£ so it's running much better now and quite a lot more boost
