The end of an era

Thanks - it's been a delight so far, definitely my favorite Subaru so far, felt wrong not to grab a piece of history.
As for cleaning it, yeah it'll be a nightmare, especially when they get round to gritting the roads here, winter tyres and alloys about to go on and i'll get it fully detailed come spring time - only 4 months till we see sunshine again

I've managed to grab a set of second hand OZ Superleggera 19's and put on some Pirelli Winter Sottozero3's - probably total overkill, but i intend on going skiing up at Aviemore, so its probably for the best - i'll be sticking them on next week shouldnt look too shabby either - just hope i have all my sizes correct!
We should all make the most of these last petrol oriented cars as there days are numbered.
I still occasionally watch the 1995 WRC dvd, there’s nothing like the sound of the prodrive Imprezas powering out of a corner, the pops and crackles from that flat four engine nothing sounds anything like it now and probably never will!!!
I fear we could be heading to a pretty stale boring future car wise!

I agree. I recently watched a video comparing full-chat acceleration in a Tesla and a C63 AMG. The Tesla was super quick as expected but started with a whine and then all you heard was wind and tyre noise. The Merc sounded heavenly racing through the gears. For me, chalk and cheese, video game and real life.
No doubt I'll end up in an EV eventually, they'll make sense for local stuff or perhaps barge-like wafting on a long journey (batteries permitting) but for fun, a decent ICE and a manual box preferably or at least flappy paddles of some sort. I appreciate I'll be in a small minority and I hope legislation and fuel availability allow it.
