Will I enjoy an Impreza
Discussion
Mission Control, we have a problem
My dear wife was looking at my Impreza book
The saloon did not get the big thumbs up, I thought it would. I expected at last it would be a car I had that she could drive.
Then she looked at the wagon and the later hatches. Liked them.
But I'd already decided on a blob eye saloon and didn't want a wagon or a hatch....

We did consider a Forester for her actually, about 4 year ago, one of the earlier ones, but decided against due to fuel consumption. She bought a Suzuki SX4 4Grip instead.
Still like the look of the Forester and so does she, in it's later guises although like every car they seem to get bigger with each new model.
But this car was for me. Alongside the Caterham and TVR I have a Volvo 940 Estate that does the family/dogs/shopping/holiday/tip/tow car bit. The Impreza was going to be a me and sometime her car when we were out for the day, needed a rear seat for him (aged 12) and didn't want to lumber along in the estate. It was to replace the TVR which "we can't all get into that"....

If you like the look of the Foz... the SG9 is essentially a coach-built Impreza.
FWIW I've owned 3 Subarus now. Previous two were breathed-upon Blob STis (the latter heavily so). My current car is the SG9 Forester STi and although slower in a straight line than my Imprezas (it's around 300bhp), it's probably the most enjoyable car I've owned.
It's torquey, fun, handles great. Makes a superb noise. Ergonomics are identical to the Newage cars; heel and toe is very easy and all controls feel right. Visibility is excellent and the forgiving nature of the suspension means it's probably a fair bit quicker than either of my two previous (coilover-ed) Scoobs on road. You won't be lumbering anywhere
