I picked mine up Dec 17, done Großglockner, Stelvio, Nurburgring, North Coast 500 and a couple of track days!! Hasn't skipped a beat!

I put on 9" rims, some stainless hoses and brake fluid in thats all. Puts a smile on my face every time i go out. I do have a work runabout so i don't have to commute it, which is probably for the best, lol. My fuel is avg 26, 29/30 on a motorway run.

Test drove a few different things, but nothing really grabbed me as much as the STi. Hope the OP has tested one by now!!
I was thinking of changing the wheels when it comes to getting a new set of tyres.

What wheels did you go for?

Picked up my new WRX Sti on April 1st last year. So far, apart from a single puncture, it's been 100% reliable.

Running costs so far have been:-

Insurance - £160/year.
First service - £330.
Tracker annual payment - £150.
Road tax - £140

Fuel works out at 28/30 mpg - I run it on Tesco Momentum 99 octane.

Only mods have been the addition of extra lips on the standard body kit and a set of mud guards.

It's now broke through the 10,000 miles and it's been pretty faultless so far.

Cheers
£160 a year to insure an RS, that sounds good, who is it with ?

I'm with Direct Line - but being old does indeed help!

True but I'm paying 450 for my 911. Is worth 50k+ though.

I had a 2011 Sti saloon for nearly six years, over 60000 miles. It was used as a town car, touring car, occasional track day car and all round family car.

I worried about the talk of engine problems but actually it was totally reliable, cheap to run (aside from fuel) and an excellent all rounder.

I would have another tomorrow. As far as I can see there isn't anything else out there that would interest me.

My advice would be to buy one, use high quality fully synthetic oil and enjoy it.

One of my best drives was coming back from Rome, North from Aosta towards the Mt. Blanc tunnel, trading places with a British M3, wife and kids asleep, tunnel, bridge, tunnel etc, never dropping below 100. A trip to be repeated some time.

Get one, you won't regret it.

Everyone knows there are some that end up being ok.

The question is ... do ya feel lucky punk?
