What Did I See In The Sky Last Night?

Oddly enough, when out looking for (and failing to see) the ISS last night, I saw something that exactly matches that description. Cool!Anyone watching the southern sky last night? I've seen countless meteorites but this was special. Special as in FMWWT special
20:08 GMT south-west, elevation about 15°. Track east. For about 3 seconds it was the brightest thing in the sky at which point it disintegrated into 3 smaller object and visible debris. Colour change from white to red at break-up.
Oh yes, and it was big.

I saw a meteor during last years Persieds that was exactly like that. 20:08 GMT south-west, elevation about 15°. Track east. According to most people a meteor landed somewhere in south wales last night.
I heard the bang but due to reading a book did not see the object.
Fortunately i am not an over reactive little girl on twitter and facebook so found this;

The bang was massive and people in a 30 mile radius could hear it. Which would explain the theory of exploding in mid air.
