In order to limit your chances of 'catching' malware you would want to frequent those sites whick give the lowest likelihood of infection. Thankfully science, or at least the New Scientist gives us the answer:

Blogs: 19.8% risk of infection,

Business: 10%

Education/reference: 6.9%,

Technology; 6.9%,

Automotive: 3.8%,

Pornography: 2.4%

Is that "chance of malware per single visit"??

I.e. porn is safer per visit because there are approx 4x as many sites as for technology?

And that means that every 5th Blog you visit you could catch a virus? (although frankly, not going to 5 blogs is also sensible because the average human being simply can't cope with that much wingeing and whineing about pointless cr*p....... ;-)

I would guess the issue is the vulnerability of the software and the quality of the server management. Lots of hobby sites running blogging software.
