In the main, yep. Live an d let live.

But in the mix is some will have the chance to alter peoples lives, for good or ill they do not know. Religion aside, there are a few threads knocking around on them, visiting a physic for example. Some do road shows and charge for the privilege to hear made up stuff. People get private readings and horoscopes are still a fad.

I vote a drive by super soakering.
And then as they're standing there dripping wet, direct them to a blog you've just set up claiming the event never happened smile

I vote - leave everyone to their own belief systems.

I have a lot of time for people who really and truly do believe in and live proper Christian values - whether they are real Christians or people who behave like one.

I have little time for those who foist their belief systems on others or believe that those who believe in something different are necessarilly wrong. Although I will hapilly engage in any sort of spiritual discussion with anybody - as long as the discussion remains civil.
They don't leave the rest of us alone though, or at least the ones with power do not.

We have in this country schools (paid for by my taxes) which teach creationism. We have limitations placed on scientific research by the religious. We have women who are told that their bodies are not theirs, we have had, and probably still have, child molesters being sheltered by them. We have believers using the courts system to limit criticism of their weird beliefs. We have scientists being threatened with bankruptcy because they say what they know to be true. We have the religious being allowed to vote in parliament. We have homeopathy funded by a cash-starved NHS. We have laws protecting them but they can say what they like about the rest. We have, ever so recently, been sent into wars by a bloke who reckons he talks to his god.

I have, and I believe most of us have, a lot of time for people who are nice, pleasant and helpful. These do not behave like christians, they behave like nice, pleasant and helpful people. I feel sure that the jehova witnesses who come down our streets are nice, pleasant and helpful, but the problem is that they are religious.

Personally, the religious killed my grandmother's twin brother and tortured her over a period of years. They left her scared mentally and I bet physically as well. They left her with guilt that her mother, from whom she was taken at around the age of 6, and put to work, was not married to her father.

I'm happy for religions and the religious to potter about. One of the most remarkable men I knew was the methodist preacher in a small village in NW Kent. A lovely bloke. But if he had tried to block me eating meat on a Friday - other than meats which the church said were not meat - then I might have a different opinion of him.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are about to enter a new dark age. People will bluetooth their Facebooks and smartphone their movies from a bus but they will actually KNOW Jack st.

Absolutely. There will always be fools. As long as they have no power and influence - ignore them.
Sadly they get votes.

I have lots of Christian friends - as well as non-Christian friends.

As for the hierarchy of the various churches - just ignore them if you don't like their message. That's what I do.
